Contactless Manipulation of Write-Read-Erase Data Storage in Diarylethene Ferroelectric Crystals.
Journal of the American Chemical Society, 2022The optical manipulation of polarization has gained widespread attention because it offers a promising route to new contactless memories and switches. However, the current research basically focuses on the photocontrol of data storage rather than data ...

Invisible photochromism of diarylethene derivatives
Chemical Communications, 2008Diarylethene derivatives with oxidized thiophene rings shift their absorption band to a shorter wavelength in the UV region upon photocyclization; no color change was observed during the photochromic reaction, and the invisible photochromism is advantageous for devices used under room light.

Photoconversion of a Protonated Diarylethene Derivative
The Journal of Physical Chemistry A, 2012A photochromic diarylethene with N,N-dimethyl substituted group 1a was prepared. 1a showed ring-opening and ring-closing photoisomerization with UV/vis light irradiation. Treatment of 1a with CF(3)COOH produced a protonated diarylethene 1aH. With UV light irradiation, 1aH photoconverted to protonated ring-closed isomer 1c, which is photoinactive. It is
