The room-temperature fluorescence (RTP), low-temperature phosphorescence (LTP) and room-temperature phosphorescence (RTP) characteristics of dibenzofuran and several polychlorinated dibenzofurans and dibenzo-p-dioxins are presented and are shown to be suitable for the determination of these compounds. The limits of detection are as low as 0.02, 0.2 and

The Vernix Caseosa is the Main Site of Dioxin Excretion in the Human Foetus
Dioxins are highly toxic to foetuses and prenatal exposure leads to adverse health effects; however, the metabolic pathways involved in dioxin excretion are poorly understood. We determined the dynamics of maternal-to-foetal dioxin transfer during normal

Risk assessment of the production of seaweed in the Netherlands; food safety and nature
Abstract Seaweed is seen as an important source of alternative proteins for a sustainable food system and food security. The cultivation of seaweed is therefore encouraged by the European Union (EU) and also by the Dutch government. In the Netherlands, seaweed is farmed on small scale in the Southwest Delta, the Wadden Sea and the North Sea. Despite the

Polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins and dibenzofurans as products of photodegradation of chlorophenols
Results of the study into photodegradation of 2,4,6-trichlorophenol and pentachlorophenol in aqueous solutions have been presented. Quantum yields and rate constants of the reactions were determined. Intermediate products were identified by GC/MS method.
