Desulphurization of Dibenzothiophene by Different Bacterial Strains: An Eco-Friendly Approach to Obtain Clean Fuel from Coal

Geomicrobiology Journal, 2022
Coal is an important energy resource and many deposits contain a significant quantity of organic sulfur compounds. Combustion of coal releases SO2, CO2 and other gases into atmosphere and causes negative impact on the environment.

Dibenzothiophene-Containing Thiacarbaporphyrinoids

The Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2023
A new type of expanded dibenzothiophene-containing thiacarbaporphyrinoid containing one dibenzothiophene, two p-phenylene, one thiophene, and two pyrrole rings connected via four meso carbons and two direct bonds was synthesized over a sequence of six steps starting with commercially available dibenzothiophene.

Adsorptive Removal of Dibenzothiophene and Dibenzothiophene Sulfone over Mesoporous Materials

Industrial & Engineering Chemistry Research, 2017
Dibenzothiophene (DBT, a typical sulfur compound) and dibenzothiophene sulfone (DBTO2, an oxidation product of DBT) were chosen as the model compounds, and their adsorption over a mesoporous silica (MCM-41) and a mesoporous carbon (CMK-3) were conducted under the exact same conditions.

Effect of Linking Pattern of Dibenzothiophene-S,S-dioxide-Containing Conjugated Microporous Polymers on the Photocatalytic Performance

Macromolecules, 2018
Conjugated microporous polymers (CMPs) exhibit great potential for photocatalytic hydrogen generation due to their tunable electronic structure. The rational molecular design is a key point for developing an efficient CMP photocatalyst.

Oxidation of dibenzothiophene to dibenzothiophene-sulfone using silica gel

Journal of Catalysis, 2009
The oxidation of dibenzothiophene (DBT) to dibenzothiophene-sulfone (DBT-sulfone) has been a topic of particular interest in the past few years, as a possible technique to remove sulfur from crude oil. In this manuscript we show that the oxidation of DBT to DBT-sulfone occurs using silica and does not require the addition of an external oxidizing agent.

Dibenzothiophene-S,S-Dioxide-Based Conjugated Polymers: Highly Efficient Photocatalyts for Hydrogen Production from Water under Visible Light.

Small, 2018
Three dibenzothiophene-S,S-dioxide-based alternating copolymers were synthesized by facile Suzuki polymerization for visible light-responsive hydrogen production from water (> 420 nm). Without addition of any cocatalyst, FluPh2-SO showed a photocatalytic
