Unsaturated biobased polyesters from bicyclic α‐pinene‐based diols
We present the synthesis of four biosourced unsaturated polyesters made from chiral terpene‐based diols and esters of renewable diacids. The resulting materials harbor a bicyclic pinene ring in their backbones which leads to enhanced thermal properties while still conferring susceptibility to enzyme hydrolysis for chains having a cis alkene.

Deprotonated Dicarboxylic Acid Homodimers: Hydrogen Bonds and Atmospheric Implications
Dicarboxylic acids represent an important class of water-soluble organic compounds found in the atmosphere. In this work we are studying properties of dicarboxylic acid homodimer complexes (HO2C(CH2)nCO2–[HO2C(CH2)nCO2H], n = 0–12), as potentially ...

Statistical evaluation of nylon chemical recycling through acidolysis
Sustainable PA6 recycling through acidolysis enabled temperature‐driven depolymerization, modeled by regression analysis. Recycled products successfully replaced up to 30% monomer while preserving PA6 chemical composition or crystalline structure. Abstract This study focuses on the sustainability of plastics reporting the recycling of polyamide (PA ...

Control of urea release through noncovalent derivatization with aliphatic dicarboxylic acids
Improving nitrogen use efficiency from nitrogen-based fertilizers is key in managing nutrient supply to agricultural crops. This work explores the potential of noncovalent derivatives (NCDs) as components of sustainable slow release nitrogen fertilizers.

Studies Towards a pH-Sensitive Anticancer Prodrug Model
Tumour-activated prodrug (TAP) is designed to aim at increasing the prodrug selectivity to kill cancer cells. One strategy to is to design a TAP containing an amine cytotoxin, present as an amide function, which could be released more rapidly in the low ...

Optimization of the dilute maleic acid pretreatment of wheat straw
Background In this study, the dilute maleic acid pretreatment of wheat straw is optimized, using pretreatment time, temperature and maleic acid concentration as design variables. A central composite design was applied to the experimental set up.

Polymorphism in pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylic acid: Competition between “robust” synthons
A new polymorph of anhydrous pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylic (dipicolinic) acid in which salt formation is favoured over carboxylic acid dimerisation is reported, together with the solid-state architectures of a novel dipicolinic acid dihydrate and a ...
