AbstractThe various conformers of the dicarboxylic acids HO2C(CH2)nCO2H, n = 1–4, were obtained using density functional methods (DFT), both in the gas phase and in the aqueous phase using a polarized continuum model (PCM). Several new conformers were identified, particularly for the two larger molecules glutaric (n = 3) and adipic acid (n =4).

5,8-Dimethoxynaphthalene-1,6-dicarboxylic Acid
Acta Crystallographica Section C Crystal Structure Communications, 1997The title compound, C14H12O6, crystallized in the centrosymmetric space group Pbca but does not exhibit hydrogen bonding of the usual cyclic dimer type about a center of symmetry or otherwise. Each molecule is linked to six neighbors by eight hydrogen bonds, which leads, in this structure, to a rich pattern of chains.

[46] Acylation with dicarboxylic acid anhydrides
1972Publisher Summary This chapter discusses acylation with dicarboxylic acid anhydrides. Succinic and maleic anhydride, or analogs of these two compounds, is utilized in a variety of protein modification studies. During the course of the reaction most of the anhydride is hydrolyzed.

THE SYNTHESIS OF OPSOPYRROLE-DICARBOXYLIC ACID
Canadian Journal of Chemistry, 1955The methyl groups of the pyrroles Ia and IIa react with sulphuryl chloride to give dichloromethyl derivatives which hydrolyze to aldehydes. The pyrrole Ia also forms a trichloromethyl derivative which hydrolyzes to the corresponding acid. Alkaline decarboxylation of the latter gives opsopyrrole-dicarboxylic acid, IVa.
