RNA‐based CLEM (RCLEM) bridging RNA localisation and ultrastructural mapping in 3D

open access: yesJournal of Microscopy, Volume 303, Issue 1, Page 120-131, July 2026.
Abstract Spatial transcriptomics and in situ hybridisation techniques have become essential for contextualising single‐cell RNA sequencing (scRNA‐seq) data by mapping cell type– and state–specific mRNA expression within intact tissues. Beyond validating scRNA‐seq predictions, these spatial methods provide critical insight into the localisation of ...

Tripartite Symbiosis Between Legumes, Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi and Nitrogen Fixing Rhizobia: Interactions and Regulation

open access: yesPlant, Cell &Environment, Volume 49, Issue 7, Page 3789-3807, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Legume plants can interact with nitrogen‐fixing rhizobia bacteria and arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) simultaneously, forming a tripartite symbiotic association. Co‐inoculation studies performed on a variety of legumes have shown that rhizobia and AMF influence each other when they co‐occur in tripartite association and affect host plant ...

Wild Barley Exhibits Higher Phosphorus‐Use Efficiency and Greater Rhizosheath Carboxylates Than Cultivated Barley Under Low‐Phosphorus Conditions

open access: yesPhysiologia Plantarum, Volume 178, Issue 4, July/August 2026.
ABSTRACT Phosphorus (P) deficiency constrains cereal production, yet improving low‐P performance remains challenging because P efficiency depends on rhizosphere mobilisation and internal utilisation. Wild relatives may provide insights into traits weakened during domestication.

Radiocarbon Evidence for the Springtime Injection of South Himalayas Biomass Burning Into the Urban Tibetan Plateau

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 12, 28 June 2026.
Abstract Carbonaceous aerosols (CA) on the Tibetan Plateau (TP) accelerate glacial melt, yet decoupling local emissions from transboundary transport remains challenging. We conducted a year‐long radiocarbon (14C) study in Lhasa, identifying it as a CA hotspot. Fossil fuels dominated EC (69%), while non‐fossil sources contributed 54% to OC.
