Detection of Aflatoxigenic Fungi in Dairy Cattle Feed: Findings From Urban Districts of Tigray, Ethiopia

This study investigates aflatoxigenic fungi in dairy cattle feed from urban districts of Tigray, Ethiopia, using culture, microscopy, UV fluorescence and ammonia vapour tests. Aspergillus flavus and A. parasiticus are detected in 33.6% of samples. Key risk factors include high humidity, poor storage and low farmer awareness.
