Abstract Objective The aim of the present study was to evaluate the association between intertwin birth weight discordance and fetal and neonatal outcomes in twin pregnancies, and to assess its relationship with mode of delivery. Methods This retrospective cohort study included twin pregnancies delivered at a tertiary referral center.

Pregnancy outcome following fetal reduction from dichorionic twins to singleton gestation
Background There are still some controversies regarding the risks and benefits of fetal reduction from twins to singletons. We aimed to evaluate if fetal reduction from twins to singleton improves pregnancy outcome.

Neuroimaging Findings and Risk Factors for Brain Injury in Foetuses Treated for Anaemia
ABSTRACT Objective Characterize neuroimaging findings in foetuses with anaemia and identify associated risk factors. Methods Retrospective cohort study of pregnancies with foetal anaemia (defined as haemoglobin > 2 standard deviations below the gestational age mean) confirmed by foetal blood sampling (FBS) and treated with intrauterine transfusion (IUT)

Background Impact of fetal gender on prematurity has been primarily investigated in singleton pregnancies. In an attempt to understand better how fetal gender may affect gestational length in twin gestations after in vitro fertilization, same-sex twins ...

Incidence of pre‐eclampsia in triplet pregnancies with and without embryo reduction
ABSTRACT Objective To determine the risk of pre‐eclampsia (PE) in triplet pregnancies, with and without embryo reduction, compared to singleton and twin pregnancies. Methods This was a retrospective multicenter study of triplet pregnancies with three live, phenotypically normal fetuses at the 11–13‐week scan and a gestational age at delivery of ≥ 24 ...

Association between the expression difference of cortisol in umbilical cord blood and discordant growth in dichorionic twins: a cross-sectional survey [PDF]
Background This study aimed to assess whether the expression difference of cortisol in umbilical cord blood is associated with dichorionic twin inconsistent growth.

Gestational diabetes in multifetal versus singleton pregnancies: A multicenter cohort study
Gestational diabetes in multifetal pregnancies was associated with increased maternal morbidity but less adverse neonatal and long‐term offspring outcomes than in singleton pregnancies, suggesting that current diagnostic thresholds derived from singleton gestations may not fully reflect the unique metabolic and clinical characteristics of multifetal ...

To be born twin: effects on long-term neurodevelopment of very preterm infants—a cohort study

This retrospective cohort compared umbilical‐portal‐systemic venous shunts in singleton and twin pregnancies. Type III was the most common subtype in singletons, whereas Type II was the most common in twins. Fetal growth restriction was more frequent in twins, but primary structural anomaly rates were similar.
