A relation is established in the present paper between Dicke states in a d-dimensional space and vectors in the representation space of a generalized Weyl–Heisenberg algebra of finite dimension d.

Actia interrupta is an important larval tachinid parasitoid during low‐density populations of the eastern spruce budworm. In the late 1980s during the outbreak collapse, Meteorus trachynotus was initially the most important species, but was replaced by A. interrupta. Host patch size and density had no impact on the parasitism rates by A.

Superradiant and lasing states in driven-dissipative Dicke models
We present the non-equilibrium phase diagram of a model which can demonstrate both Dicke–Hepp–Lieb superradiance and regular lasing by varying the coherent and incoherent driving terms We find that the regions in the phase diagram corresponding to ...

In open arena assays, the response of the egg parasitoid Trissolcus basalis to substrate‐borne semiochemicals left by the host Nezara viridula was affected by the non‐host Spodoptera littoralis. Non‐host larval traces reduced T. basalis residence time spent on walking traces from gravid N. viridula females but did not affect responses to walking traces

Cotesia glomerata polydnavirus and venom, either alone or in combination, affect colonisation by members of the arthropod community in a natural field setting. Plants damaged by P. brassicae injected with both polydnavirus and venom were colonised more often by Mamestra brassicae caterpillars, Myzus persicae aphids and aphid parasitoids compared to ...

Entanglement Generation via Single-Qubit Rotations in a Torn Hilbert Space
We propose an efficient yet simple protocol to generate arbitrary symmetric entangled states with only global single-qubit rotations in a torn Hilbert space.

The parasitoid‐associated polydnavirus CgPDV, but not venom alone, significantly increases the attractiveness of Pieris brassicae caterpillars to the hyperparasitoid Baryscapus galactopus at close range. Naturally parasitized caterpillars elicit stronger hyperparasitoid attraction than any injection treatment, indicating that additional factors beyond ...

Temperature elevation broadens the dietary niche of an insect herbivore
The realised dietary niche in Chrysomela lapponica was the narrowest at 10°C, whereas higher temperatures (15–25°C) broadened the dietary niche by increasing preference for and survival on suboptimal host plants. Elevated temperature broadened the realised dietary niche through both direct effects on beetles and indirect effects mediated by temperature‐

Simple sufficient condition for subspace to be completely or genuinely entangled
We introduce a simple sufficient criterion, which allows one to tell whether a subspace of a bipartite or multipartite Hilbert space is entangled. The main ingredient of our criterion is a bound on the minimal entanglement of a subspace in terms of ...

ABSTRACT Methyl salicylate (MeSA) is an herbivore‐induced plant volatile (HIPV) known to attract natural enemies of herbivores; however, its effectiveness as a semiochemical across diverse cropping systems and broad geographic regions remains unclear. In this 2‐year field study, we sampled natural enemies using MeSA‐baited and unbaited (control) yellow
