Cyanamide and Dicyandiamide Separation

Separation Science and Technology, 1995
Abstract Solvent extraction of cyanamide and dicyandiamide (1-cyano-guanidine) from aqueous ammoniacal solution with Aliquat 336 dissolved in Shellsol T has been studied. Extraction isotherms with different ionic forms of the anion-exchanger are reported for the separation of the compounds of interest as well as for mixtures of the solutes. The optimum

Biochemical Degradation of Cyanamide and Dicyandiamide

Angewandte Chemie International Edition in English, 1992
The substrate specificity of enzymes at low catalytic activity is apparently much broader than previously assumed. This conclusion, based on the results of studies of the biochemical degradation of cyanamide and dicyandiamide, also contributes to the understanding of how chemicals not found in nature are metabolized when they are purposely or ...

Curing of epoxy resins with dicyandiamide

Polymer Bulletin, 1993
The mechanism of the epoxy resin curing with dicyandiamide was studied using the model phenyl glycidyl ether and different substituted dicyandiamides. Some reaction products were isolated by HPLC and characterized by FTIR and Carbon-13 NMR spectroscopy.

Effect of Temperature on Dicyandiamide (DCD) Longevity in Pastoral Soils Under Field Conditions

open access: yesAgriculture, Ecosystems and Environment, 2014
Data were analysed from five trials begun in autumn at a field site and a relationship between time for concentration of the nitrification inhibitor dicyandiamide (DCD) in soil to halve (t½ , days) and the mean soil temperature (T, °C) was developed: t½ =

Effects of Dicyandiamide on Potato Performance

Journal of Agronomy and Crop Science, 1994
AbstractA nitrification inhibitor which blocks the conversion of ammonium to nitrate may reduce the risk of leaching of nitrate during the growing season. In field experiments in 1988—1990 a nitrogen fertilizer enriched with the nitrification inhibitor dicyandiamid (Alzon) was compared with a standard calcium‐ammonium‐nitrate fertilizer (CAN), using ...

The Crystal Structure of Dicyandiamide

Journal of the American Chemical Society, 1940
Several different structures have been proposed for the dimer of cyanamide but no absolutely conclusive evidence has ever been given for any one of them. In past years many people have preferred the cyanoguanidinel structure I. But even fairly recently arguments have been advanced in favor of the cyclic structure II.

Condensation of dicyandiamide with chloral hydrate

Chemistry of Heterocyclic Compounds, 1975
A substituted 1,3,5-oxadiazine derivative that exists in two tautomeric forms was obtained by reaction of dicyandiamide with chloral hydrate. The structure of the product was established on the basis of its IR spectrum and chemical transformations.

Pyridylalkyl Dicyandiamides, Biguanides, and Guanylureas

Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, 1961
A series of pyridylalkyl dicyandiamides, guanylureas, and biguanides has been synthesized and the compounds evaluated for anti-inflammatory activity and potentiation of the hexobarbital effect.
