A 24-GHz, +14.5-dBm fully integrated power amplifier in 0.18-μm CMOS [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
A 24-GHz +14.5-dBm fully integrated power amplifier with on-chip 50-[ohm] input and output matching is demonstrated in 0.18-μm CMOS. The use of substrate-shielded coplanar waveguide structures for matching networks results in low passive loss and small ...

Time after time – circadian clocks through the lens of oscillator theory

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Oscillator theory bridges physics and circadian biology. Damped oscillators require external drivers, while limit cycles emerge from delayed feedback and nonlinearities. Coupling enables tissue‐level coherence, and entrainment aligns internal clocks with environmental cues.

The newfound relationship between extrachromosomal DNAs and excised signal circles

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Extrachromosomal DNAs (ecDNAs) contribute to the progression of many human cancers. In addition, circular DNA by‐products of V(D)J recombination, excised signal circles (ESCs), have roles in cancer progression but have largely been overlooked. In this Review, we explore the roles of ecDNAs and ESCs in cancer development, and highlight why these ...

The Implementation of a 2/4/8 Antennas Configurable Diversity OFDM Receiver for Mobile HDTV Application

open access: yesInternational Journal of Digital Multimedia Broadcasting, 2009
Two pre-FFT adaptive array (AA) antenna combiners and a post-FFT carrier diversity (CD) combiner are integrated with a Japan Terrestrial digital TV (ISDB-T) OFDM receiver using 90 nm 7M1P CMOS process. A 2/4/8-antenna diversity receiver can be configured

An Investigation of Process Variations and Mismatch Characteristics of Vertical Bipolar Junction Transistors

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2023
Bipolar junction transistors (BJT) are widely used integrated devices for analog circuits. For most of analog applications, the process variation and the match performance of BJT pairs are critical for the circuit design.

GaSb-based integrated lasers and photodetectors on a silicon-on-insulator waveguide circuit for sensing applications in the shortwave infrared [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
We report our results on GaSb photodiodes and lasers integrated on a Silicon-On-Insulator waveguide circuit. The photodiodes operate at room temperature with 0.4A/W responsivity for grating-assisted coupling and >1 A/W for an evanescent design.

Class IIa HDACs forced degradation allows resensitization of oxaliplatin‐resistant FBXW7‐mutated colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
HDAC4 is degraded by the E3 ligase FBXW7. In colorectal cancer, FBXW7 mutations prevent HDAC4 degradation, leading to oxaliplatin resistance. Forced degradation of HDAC4 using a PROTAC compound restores drug sensitivity by resetting the super‐enhancer landscape, reprogramming the epigenetic state of FBXW7‐mutated cells to resemble oxaliplatin ...

Monolithic integration of circuits in e-mode GaN HEMT technology

open access: yesPower Electronic Devices and Components
This work presents a power transistor with monolithically integrated gate driver and auxiliary circuit in the same GaN-on-Si die. It presents the design, the characterization and validation tests in a PCB similarly to a final application for this device.

Monolithic ultrasound fingerprint sensor. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
This paper presents a 591×438-DPI ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. The sensor is based on a piezoelectric micromachined ultrasonic transducer (PMUT) array that is bonded at wafer-level to complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) signal processing ...

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...
