An ART1 microchip and its use in multi-ART1 systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
Recently, a real-time clustering microchip neural engine based on the ART1 architecture has been reported. Such chip is able to cluster 100-b patterns into up to 18 categories at a speed of 1.8 μs per pattern.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Simultaneous Bidirectional Signaling for Die-to-Die Links: Signal Integrity Challenges and Hybrid Circuits

open access: yesIEEE Open Journal of the Solid-State Circuits Society
This article reviews simultaneous bidirectional signaling and its unique signal integrity challenges for die-to-die links: the near-end echo signal and the hybrid circuit required to remove it, signal reflections, and the impact of timing. A few key works in the design of simultaneous bidirectional transceivers are covered, such as dynamic reference ...

An investigation of the strength of aluminum wire used in integrated circuits [PDF]

open access: yes, 1970
Microloop pull test is developed to stress wire loops in situ until failure. The applied loads, the nature of the fracture, and its location are recorded.

Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

Subsurface imaging of samples with SAM

open access: yesArchives of Acoustics, 2014
The paper presents unique abilities of the acoustic microscope to penetrate and visualize an interior of materials which are opaque to the light. The construction of an acoustic lens optimized for subsurface imaging is described.

An On-Chip Balun Using Planar Spiral Inductors Based on Glass Wafer-Level IPD Technology

open access: yesMicromachines
As integrated electronic microsystems advance, their internal components demonstrate increasing miniaturization, higher-density integration, and, consequently, significantly enhanced performance. This paper presents an on-chip transformer balun.
