Spiders (Araneae) from the Panský diel (Starohorské vrchy Mts, Slovakia) [PDF]
Spiders were collected at the massif 'Panský diel' near the city of Banská Bystrica (Central Slovakia). We recorded 252 spider species for the territory and one new species for Slovakia.

Diel Patterns Hold Promise as an Ecological Trait for Ants
Ecological traits have flourished in insect-based studies, resulting in a substantial and growing list of measurable traits. One trait that will likely become more attractive as data quality and curation improve is the diel patterns of insect activities.

Enhanced stream greenhouse gas emissions at night and during flood events
Headwater streams play a large role in aquatic greenhouse gas emissions. Carbon dioxide (CO2) and dissolved oxygen in streams often undergo changes through diel cycles. However, methane (CH4) and nitrous oxide (N2O) have unknown diel dynamics.

Temperature, organic matter and the sustainability of aquatic systems [PDF]
Changes in sustainability of aquatic ecosystems are likely to be brought about by the global warming that has been widely predicted. In this article, the effects of water temperature on water-bodies (lakes, oceans and rivers) are reviewed followed by the

Phase Separation of Nucleic Acids: Mechanisms, Properties, and Applications
Recent discoveries have shown that single‐stranded long‐chain nucleic acids can undergo temperature‐induced phase separation, enabling formation of micrometer‐sized condensates. This Minireview discusses the current mechanistic understanding of this phenomenon, highlights strategies for controlling the physical and chemical properties of these ...
