Argon Cold Plasma Modification of Polyethylene Films to Tailor Surface and Barrier Properties

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, Volume 143, Issue 16, April 20, 2026.
Argon cold plasma treatment of low‐density polyethylene (LDPE) and high‐density polyethylene (HDPE) films induces major changes in surface chemistry and morphology. Contact angles decrease significantly while surface energy increases, improving wettability. FTIR confirms the formation of polar functional groups, while pronounced etching, roughness, and

DIFFUSE DBD IN ATMOSPHERIC AIR AT DIFFERENT APPLIED PULSE WIDTHS [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The paper deals with the realization and the diagnostics of the volume diffuse dielectric barrier discharge in 1-mm air gap when applying high voltage rectangular pulses to the electrodes. The effect of the applied pulse width on the discharge dissipated

Improving Plasma‐Catalytic Ammonia Synthesis Using a Coaxial Double‐Helix‐Electrode Reactor

open access: yesChemSusChem, Volume 19, Issue 7, 14 April 2026.
A symmetric double‐dielectric, double‐helix dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) reactor enables uniform volume discharge, enhanced energetic electrons, and strong plasma‐catalyst synergy, delivering high‐efficiency ammonia synthesis under mild, low‐carbon conditions.

Toluene Oxidation by Non-Thermal Plasma Combined with Palladium Catalysts

open access: yesFrontiers in Chemistry, 2013
The oxidation of toluene in air was investigated using a dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) combined with a Pd/Al2O3 catalyst. When using only plasma, rather low selectivity towards CO2 was obtained: 32-35%.

Experimental investigation of influence of sliding discharge DBD plasma on low-speed boundary layer

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2020
In this study, we investigated the effects of surface sliding discharge of a dielectric barrier discharge (SL-DBD) plasma actuator on the boundary layer flow using the time-resolved particle image velocimetry (PIV) technique.
