Breakdown of liquid dielectrics

Abstract A study was made of electrical breakdown of a liquid (hexachlorodiphenyl) the viscosity of which is very dependent on temperature. Embedded Ferroelectric Nanoclusters Can Drive Polarization Reversal in a Non‐Ferroelectric Polar Film via the Proximity Effect

Ferroelectric nanoclusters create local internal fields in a normally non‐switchable polar film because of polarization mismatch at their interfaces. That field opposes polarization in the regions with larger polarization and reinforces polarization in the regions with smaller polarization.

This paper gives an overview of the dielectric breakdown in thin oxide layers on silicon. First test methods are discussed, followed by their application to the estimation of the oxide lifetime. The main part of the paper is devoted to the physical background of the intrinsic breakdown. Finally, defect-related or extrinsic breakdown is discussed.

Performance Enhancement of Tin Chloride‐Incorporated Ferroelectric Polymer‐Based Artificial Synapse for Hardware Neural Networks

This paper proposes a highly efficient ferroelectric artificial synapse device based on an oxide semiconductor and SnCl2‐inserted P(VDF‐TrFE) gate dielectric layer. This FeFET significantly improved the synaptic performance due to the ion‐dipole interaction.
