Dielectric characterization of costal cartilage chondrocytes [PDF]
Chondrocytes respond to biomechanical and bioelectrochemical stimuli by secreting appropriate extracellular matrix proteins that enable the tissue to withstand the large forces it experiences. Although biomechanical aspects of cartilage are well described, little is known of the bioelectrochemical responses.

Characterization of dielectric electroactive polymer transducers [PDF]
Throughout this paper, a small-signal model of the Dielectric Electro Active Polymer (DEAP) transducer is analyzed. The DEAP transducer have been proposed as an alternative to the electrodynamic transducer in sound reproduction systems. In order to understand how the DEAP transducer works, and provide guidelines for design optimization, accurate ...

Characterization of dielectric spheres by spiral imaging [PDF]
We study the spiral spectra scattered off transparent dielectric spheres when probed by different Laguerre-Gaussian light beams, carrying nested topological wavefront dislocations. We show that such scattering data may be employed to determine geometrical properties of the spheres, such as their position.

Preparation and Characterization of CCTO/PDMS Dielectric Elastomers with High Dielectric Constant and Low Dielectric Loss [PDF]
Dielectric elastomer (DE) is a type of electric field type electroactive polymer material that can produce greater deformation under the action of an electric field and has a faster recovery speed. It has the advantages of high energy density, large strain, low quality, and commercialization, and has become the most widely concerned and researched ...

CaCu3Ti4O12 ceramics from co-precipitation method: Dielectric properties of pellets and thick films [PDF]
Dielectric properties of CaCu3Ti4O12 (CCTO)-based ceramics and thick films (e ∼50m) prepared from powders synthesized by a soft chemistry method (co-precipitation) are presented and discussed.

Techniques to Improve the Performance of Planar Microwave Sensors: A Review and Recent Developments
Planar microwave sensors have become increasing developed in recent decades, especially in material characterization (solid/liquid) as they provide regions highly sensitive to the surrounding medium.

Dielectric properties of CaCu3Ti4O12 based multiphased ceramics [PDF]
A “soft chemistry” method, the coprecipitation, has been used to synthesize the perovskite CaCu3Ti4O12 (CCT). Three main types of materials were obtained for both powders and sintered ceramics: a monophased consisting of the pure CCT phase, a biphased ...
