Effective dielectric constant of electrolytes
We show that in the framework of the Poisson-Nernst-Planck model, where the ions are assumed point-like particles, the dielectric constant of the electrolyte coincides with that of the solvent in which the ions are dispersed.

CaCu3Ti(4-x)Nb(x)O(12) (x = 0, 0.01, 0.08, 0.2) ceramics were fabricated by a conventional solid-state reaction method. The ceramics showed the body-centered cubic structure without any foreign phases and the grain size decreases with Nb doping.

Scaling down of MOS device dimensions is accompanied by a decrease in gate-oxide thickness and an increase in substrate doping density. When gate oxide thickness becomes less than 2 nm, a substantial current follows through gate-oxide due to direct ...

Effective dielectric constant of nanostructured Si layers
We calculate the dielectric response of single layers of cubic and spherical Si nanocrystals using a self-consistent tight binding approach. We show that the effective dielectric constant is strongly influenced by the nanostructuring, leading to a strong
