Design of Substrate-Integrated Waveguide Loading Multiple Complementary Open Resonant Rings (CSRRs) for Dielectric Constant Measurement

open access: yesSensors, 2020
In order to solve the low-sensitivity problem of the dielectric constant with the resonant cavity method, a sensor based on a substrate-integrated waveguide structure loaded with a multi-complementary open resonant ring is proposed.

Chipless Dielectric Constant Sensor for Structural Health Testing [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Sensors Journal, 2018
A low-cost chipless RFID sensor tag to determine the dielectric properties of materials is presented. The sensor is based on a depolarizing dipole resonator loaded with printed capacitors whose capacitance depends on the permittivity of the material located on contact with the tag. The permittivity is obtained from the shift of the resonance frequency.

An Analytical Method to Implement High-Sensitivity Transmission Line Differential Sensors for Dielectric Constant Measurements [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Sensors Journal, 2020
A simple analytical method useful to optimize the sensitivity in differential sensors based on a pair of meandered microstrip lines is presented in this paper. Sensing is based on the phase difference of the transmission coefficients of both lines, when such lines are asymmetrically loaded.

Frying Oil Evaluation by a Portable Sensor Based on Dielectric Constant Measurement [PDF]

open access: yesSensors, 2019
A portable capacitive sensor was designed to assess frying oil degradation by measuring the changes in electrical capacitance. An interdigital electrode (IDE) was designed to be implemented as the testing probe (as IDEs are resistive to parasitic capacitance), together with an adjacent capacitive chip Pcap01 and a further microprocessor STM32, which ...
