Dielectric hysteresis and rotation of dipoles in polyvinylidene fluoride
Applied Physics Letters, 1980Hysteresis curves of the linear dielectric constant, the electric displacement, and the IR absorbance at 1273 cm−1 were observed at −5 °C for a stretched film of polyvinylidene fluoride. The hysteretic polarization was obtained by subtracting the linear electric displacement from the observed electric displacement.

Dielectric hysteresis in single crystal BiFeO3
Solid State Communications, 1970Single crystals of BiFeO3 of perovskite structure were grown with dimensions of greater than 1 mm from a Bi2O3 flux. Dielectric hysteresis loops were measured on these crystals. While the loops were not fully saturated, they confirm that BiFeO3 is ferroelectric.

Anomalous thermal hysteresis in dielectric permittivity of CaCu3Ti4O12
Applied Physics Letters, 2008We herein report an anomalous thermal hysteresis in dielectric permittivity in CaCu3Ti4O12. The anomalous behavior was well explained in terms of the low-temperature Maxwell–Wagner relaxation induced by frozen carriers. A multirelaxation mechanism, i.e., the coupling of the dipole relaxation to the frozen carrier-induced and blocked carrier-induced ...

Dielectric hysteresis in proteins
Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Protein Structure, 1973Solid films of ovalbumin and of sodium polyglutamate both show dielectric constants of the order several hundred to several thousand together with marked dielectric hysteresis. It is suggested that these properties may result from ferroelectric behaviour and, if widespread among proteins, must have considerable physiological significance.
