Thermal hysteresis measurement of the VO2 dielectric function for its metal-insulator transition by visible-IR ellipsometry

Journal of Applied Physics, 2018
The real and imaginary parts of the dielectric function of VO2 thin films, deposited on r-plane sapphire via pulsed laser deposition, are measured by means of visible-infrared ellipsometry for wavelengths ranging from 0.4 to 15 μm and temperatures within

Hysteresis loops in dielectric amplifiers

Transactions of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers, Part I: Communication and Electronics, 1956
DIELECTRIC amplifiers are circuits which utilize the nonlinear characteristics of capacitors made with so-called ferroelectric materials as dielectrics. To predict the performance of a dielectric amplifier, the behavior of the nonlinear capacitor must be determined and some means of representing it analytically must be devised.

Hysteresis loops and dielectric properties of a mixed spin Blume–Capel Ising ferroelectric nanowire

Physica A: Statistical Mechanics and its Applications, 2018
The critical and hysteresis behaviors of a ferrielectric Blume–Capel nanowire are studied using the Ising model with mixed spins-( 1 2 , 1) in the presence of both an external longitudinal electric ( E z ) and crystal anisotropy ( D ) fields.

Electromechanical hysteresis and coexistent states in dielectric elastomers

Physical Review B, 2007
When a voltage is applied to a layer of a dielectric elastomer, the layer reduces in thickness and expands in area. A recent experiment has shown that the homogeneous deformation of the layer can be unstable, giving way to an inhomogeneous deformation, such that regions of two kinds coexist in the layer, one being flat and the other wrinkled.

Dielectric hysteresis loops dispersion in TGS crystals

Ferroelectrics, 1998
The frequency dependencies of coercive field and polarization of TGS in wide frequency (10-1-104Hz) and temperature (280-330 K) ranges were observed.

Electrowetting hysteresis on a deformable dielectric film

Soft Matter
Electrowetting on dielectric (EWOD) involves actuating surfactant-laden droplets through electrical stimulus while the droplets lie on a deformable dielectric layer that covers the electrode.

Dielectric Hysteresis in Thin-Film Ferroelectrics and Relaxors

2006 IEEE International Symposium on the Applications of Ferroelectrics, 2006
Heterostructures of thin-film perovskite ferroelectrics and relaxors were grown by in situ pulsed laser deposition on La 0.5 Sr 0.5 CoO 3 /MgO and Pt/sapphire. The dielectric response of the heterostructures was measured as a function of frequency, temperature, amplitude of ac field, magnitude of dc field, and varying the measurement rate.
