The dielectric constant of a lattice of polarisable spheres
Journal of Physics A: Mathematical and General, 1980The response of a simple cubic lattice of spacing L with a polarisable sphere of polarisability alpha at each vertex to a permanent dipole mu at one vertex deep within the lattice is evaluated.

A Dual-Polarised Dielectric Near-Field Probe
2007 2nd International ITG Conference on Antennas, 2007This paper presents a novel dielectric near-field probe as an alternative for the conventional open-ended waveguide probes. The latter tend to be bulky in the mobile communication frequency bands (GSM 900 and GSM 1800). Furthermore they show significant interaction with the AUT as compared to the proposed dielectric probe.

Investigations into Polarisations in Dielectric Resonator Antenna
2018This paper presented investigations into polarization for designing antennas. The left-hand and right-hand polarization switchable cylindrical DRA has been investigated using two crossed slots of unequal lengths. They couple energy through an aperture-coupled microstrip feed line.

Conduction and dielectric polarisation in proteins and molecular complexes
Journal of the Chemical Society, Faraday Transactions 1: Physical Chemistry in Condensed Phases, 1981For wealky conducting materials such as proteins and certain molecular solids the charge-transport mechanism often involves the phonon-assisted hopping of charge carriers between localised sites. It is shown here that for such materials a direct relationship exists between the steady-state conductivity and the relaxation time of the dielectric ...

Complex Birefringence with Dielectric Metasurfaces for Unconventional Polarisation Control
Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics, 2018We establish that complex birefringence can be efficiently realised with all-dielectric metasurfaces without utilising material losses, enabling new regimes of polarisation control for enhanced measurements and unconventional interference for classical and quantum light.

Polarisation-source formulation of electromagnetism and dielectric-loaded waveguides
Proceedings of the Institution of Electrical Engineers, 1972A general formulation is presented for the diffraction of arbitrary fields by bodies exhibiting arbitrary variations of permittivity, permeability and conductivity. Piecewise-continuous and perfectly conducting bodies are included. The general solution to any diffraction problem is given as a single integral equation.

Molecular Polarisation of Solutes and Dielectric Constant of Solvents
Nature, 1935EXPERIMENTALLY it is indicated that the different total polarisations shown by the same solute when dissolved in different solvents are to be related to alterations in the orientation polarisations (0P) caused by replacement of one dielectric environment by another, the atomic and electronic polarisations being constant throughout such changes ...

Core polarisation in the dielectric response of simple metals
Solid State Communications, 1983Abstract The lowest core binding energy of a number of simple metals is close to the plasmon energy of the valence electrons. As a consequence the dielectric properties of these systems for ω of order of ωp are determined by the dynamics of both the valence- and the core electrons and by their mutual interaction.

Dielectric polarisation and the form of the carbon dioxide molecule
Proceedings of the Indian Academy of Sciences - Section A, 19371. Accurate measurements of the dielectric coefficient ofcarbon dioxide have been made at 8 different temperatures from +20° to +210° C. 2. The value of polarisation is constant within the limits of experimental error, indicating that the gas is non-polar within the temperature range employed. 3.

Circular polarisation in ridge and dielectric loaded ridge waveguides
2000An important concept in microwave engineering is that of circular polarisation. The two possibilities correspond to two equal vectors in space quadrature with one or the other advanced or retarded in time quadrature. Counter-rotating magnetic fields occur naturally on either side of the symmetry plane of an ordinary rectangular waveguide propagating ...
