Influences of graphene nanoplatelet aspect ratio and thermal treatment on dielectric performances of poly(methyl methacrylate) composites

open access: yesHigh Voltage, 2016
The dielectric property and percolated behaviour of polymer matrix composites largely depend on the morphology of conductive fillers and external stimulations especially when the composites are processed by melting blending and extrusion-injection way ...

Array of circular-polarised cross dielectric resonatorantennas

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 1996
A compact array of circular polarised cross-shaped dielectric resonator antennas (XDRAs) is presented. The array consists of 2/spl times/2 XDRAs elicited by microstrip-fed slot apertures in the X-band. By using sequential rotation to feed the XDRAs, the circular polarisation bandwidth is significantly increased from 5% for the individual XDRA to 16% in

Improved energy storage property in polyvinylidene fluoride‐based multilayered composite regulated by oriented carbon nanotube@SiO2 nanowires

open access: yesIET Nanodielectrics, 2023
High‐performance dielectric capacitors are essential components of advanced electronic and pulsed power systems for energy storage. Because of their high breakdown strength and excellent flexibility, polymer‐based capacitors are regarded as auspicious ...

Lattice Relaxation and Charge-Transfer Optical Transitions Due to Self-Trapped Holes in Non-Stoichiometric LaMnO$_3$ Crystal

open access: yes, 2001
We use the Mott-Littleton approach to evaluate polarisation energies in LaMnO$_3$ lattice associated with holes localized on both Mn$^{3+}$ cation and O$^{2-}$ anion. The full (electronic and ionic) lattice relaxation energy for a hole localized at the O-

Ultrasensitive and fast single wavelength plasmonic hydrogen sensing with anisotropic nanostructured Pd films

open access: yes, 2018
Anisotropic nanostructured porous Pd films are fabricated using oblique angle deposition in vacuum on a glass substrate. They display a dichroic response, due to localised surface plasmon resonances (LSPR) within the nanoparticles forming the film ...

Ultracompact high-efficiency polarising beam splitter based on silicon nanobrick arrays [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Since the transmission of anisotropic nano-structures is sensitive to the polarisation of an incident beam, a novel polarising beam splitter (PBS) based on silicon nanobrick arrays is proposed.

Dual-polarised dielectric resonator antenna with high isolation and low cross-polarisation

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 2009
A novel, dual-polarised dielectric resonator antenna with high-isolation and low cross-polarisation is presented using a hybrid feeding technique. Port isolation of 35.9 dB and a cross-polarisation level of −34 dB are measured. The impedance bandwidth of return loss less than −10 dB is 440 MHz (7.9%) with a centre frequency of 5.7 GHz.

Maxwell's Equations in a Uniformly Rotating Dielectric Medium and the Wilson-Wilson Experiment

open access: yes, 2010
This note offers a conceptually straightforward and efficient way to formulate and solve problems in the electromagnetics of moving media based on a representation of Maxwell's equations in terms of differential forms on spacetime together with junction ...

Compact wideband circularly polarised dielectric resonator antenna

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 2017
A new geometry of compact wideband/dual‐band circularly polarised dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) is presented. First, a wideband DRA is realised by a rectangular dielectric resonator excited by a vertical coaxial probe feed which is supported by a small substrate.
