Optical dielectric resonator antenna

2012 9th International Conference on Communications (COMM), 2012
In this paper we propose that a dielectric dot on the top of a ground plane could act as an antenna in optical frequency range. We investigate its electromagnetic properties numerically and observe that its behaviors are similar to dielectric resonator antenna in radio frequency.

The influence of the dielectric constant in dielectric resonator antennas

2016 International Conference on Communications (COMM), 2016
This paper presents a comparison between dielectric resonator antennas with different dielectric constant parameter of the resonator. The antenna is fed with microstrip line. The dielectric resonators have cylindrical geometry. In HFSS software program, the simulations are up to compare the antennas' behavior as a function of different parameters, such

Dielectric resonator antenna

2015 Conference on Microwave Techniques (COMITE), 2015
This article is focused on using a dielectric resonator as a radiating element of a antenna with the aim to reduce dimensions of such antennas compared to classical microstrip antennas. Such antenna was build and its parameters tested in frequency band of 2.9 to 3.1 GHz.

Performance Analysis of Dielectric Resonator Antennas

Wireless Personal Communications, 2013
Compact, lightweight and low cost electronics components are attracting much attention because of the rapid growth of the wireless communication systems. The antenna designers are thus in continuous search for new advanced design of miniaturized antennas.

Dynamic behavior of dielectric resonator antennas

ICECS 2001. 8th IEEE International Conference on Electronics, Circuits and Systems (Cat. No.01EX483), 2002
Dielectrically loaded antennas meet growing interest in wireless and satellite communication due to small dimensions, controllable properties and perfect protection from damages even in the case of explosions. Real construction can be computed using time domain finite difference methods, but those methods meet big difficulties in dynamic problems.

The dielectric resonator antenna

1985 Tenth International Conference on Infrared and Millimeter Waves, 1985
There is, today, strong interest on the part of both military and commercial users, in antenna systems which can operate efficiently in the millimeter wave region (100–300 GHz) and above. Reducing the size of currently-used microwave frequency antennas to obtain higher resonant frequencies will usually be unsuccessful, either because the small size ...

A dual‐frequency dielectric resonator antenna

Microwave and Optical Technology Letters, 2003
AbstractA dual‐frequency cylindrical dielectric resonator antenna is presented. This paper proposes a configuration in which the shape and volume of the radiating structure remain unchanged. The behaviour of this antenna after altering some of its attributes is investigated. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.

Numerical analysis of dielectric resonator antennas

International Journal of Numerical Modelling: Electronic Networks, Devices and Fields, 2000
A numerical analysis of various dielectric resonator antennas (DRAs): simple (singleelement) and complex shape configurations (stacked and embedded resonators) withdifferent excitations (dipole, coaxial probe, slot‐coupled microstrip line) using a time‐harmonic surface finite element method (SFEM) is presented.

A dielectric resonator on a microstrip antenna

Proceedings of IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society International Symposium, 2002
As long as the resonant frequency of a stand-alone parasitic element is close to but not equal to that of the active microstrip antenna, mutual coupling effects between them could alter the characteristics of the entire system. Satisfactory results are observed when the passive element is placed on top of the patch antenna.
