Investigation on dielectric resonator antennas
2017 Third International Conference on Sensing, Signal Processing and Security (ICSSS), 2017The area of wireless communications has been increased from last decade. The success of the second-generation(2G) motivates the development of wideband 3G, 4G, cellular phones and other wireless products and services, including WLAN, local multi-point distributed networks(LMDS), home RF, Bluetooth etc.

The problem of scattering electromagnetic waves from a radiating aperture by a system of high-Q dielectric resonators (DR) in free space is considered. General expressions are presented for calculating both the amplitudes of coupled oscillations and also the scattered field in the wave zone of the resonator system.

Bidirectional dielectric resonator antenna
2015 IEEE International Symposium on Antennas and Propagation & USNC/URSI National Radio Science Meeting, 2015A bidirectional dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) is investigated. The rectangular DRA is used, which resonates in its TE 215 y mode. As a demonstration, it is designed to operate at 5.80 GHz for WLAN applications. Its reflection coefficient, radiation pattern, and antenna gain of the bidirectional DRA were simulated and measured.

Supershaped dielectric resonator antennas
2009 IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society International Symposium, 2009A family of dielectric resonator antennas, the supershaped DRAs, has been introduced in this communication. These DRAs exhibit wideband matching characteristics and broadside radiation. The cross section of the supershaped DRAs was described by means of a simple analytical expression depending on a set of six real parameters.

Wideband dielectric resonator antenna
Microwave and Optical Technology Letters, 2005AbstractThis paper presents a new wideband dielectric resonator (DR) antenna. To enhance the bandwidth, two layers of stacked resonators having the same rotational axis of symmetry are used. At the bottom layer, a smaller cylindrical DR is placed concentrically inside a large annular‐ring DR, whereas at the top layer, there is only one cylindrical DR ...

A small dielectric resonator antenna
IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, 2002By covering a cylindrical dielectric resonator antenna with a metallic cap, the resonant frequency of the antenna can be reduced by 30.6%. The result finds applications in designing small antennas for wireless communication systems.

Adaptive Dielectric Resonator Antenna
2007 Loughborough Antennas and Propagation Conference, 2007A new class of hemispherical dielectric resonator antenna using mixed dielectric with beam agility is presented. The design of the antenna was optimized by extensive numerical simulations with the HFSS, Ansoft package. The antenna resonates at 5.6 GHz, with a diameter of 26 mm and Sn of -15 dB.

Dielectric Resonator Antenna Loaded with Monopole Antenna
2013 Third International Conference on Advanced Computing and Communication Technologies (ACCT), 2013A DRA loaded with monopole antenna is proposed in the present work. The metal cap is used to cover the monopole antenna top as well as top of DRA. These designing increase the operative frequency of the antenna. The antenna system resonates at 4.4 GHz. The simulation results of return loss, VSWR, gain and radiation pattern are presented.

Resonant frequency of rectangular dielectric resonator antenna
2017 8th Annual Industrial Automation and Electromechanical Engineering Conference (IEMECON), 2017In this paper, Rectangular Dielectric Resonator Antenna (RDRA) is investigated theoretically. To investigate the RDRA, the antenna is assumed as a cavity. The wave equation is solved inside the cavity antenna. Simple transcendental equation is given here to predict the resonant frequency of RDRA. One antenna prototype is simulated to verify our theory.

A UWB Probe-Fed Dielectric Resonator Antenna
VTC Spring 2009 - IEEE 69th Vehicular Technology Conference, 2009This paper presents a stacked rectangular dielectric resonator antenna for ultra-wideband applications. The antenna is composed of a dielectric resonator and a thin dielectric segment, and is excited by a coaxial probe. Theoretical results show that an ultra-wide band, from 3.1 GHz to 10.7 GHz, can be achieved.
