Modernization of exhaust manifolds of DG882L diesel-generator for diesel locomotives
Transport of the Urals, 2020The paper considers a serial design of a collapsible exhaust manifold for pulse boosting system of 8DM-21EL2M diesel engine and it’s modernized variant made of cast iron. The authors present results of modeling of exhaust gas and coolant flows gas dynamics. They also show the temperature distribution over the manifold surface.

Exposure to Diesel Exhaust Emissions on Board Locomotives
AIHA Journal, 2003Measurements of diesel exhaust emissions (DEEs) were taken in the cabs of leading and trailing locomotives on 48 runs, under winter and summer conditions, on 9 different routes. The cab windows were kept open during the summer runs and closed during the winter runs. The average measurement duration was 9.5 hours. There was virtually no exposure to DEEs
