Multiplicity of prompt fission neutron in the 239Pu(n,f) reaction and its energy dependence [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences
Accurate multiplicities of prompt fission neutrons emitted in neutron-induced fission on a large energy range are essential for fundamental and applied nuclear physics.

Microscopic modeling of direct pre-equilibrium emission from neutron induced reactions on even and odd actinides

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2017
Direct inelastic scattering to discrete excitations and pre-equilibrium emission are described within a microscopic model. Nuclear structure information are obtained in the (Quasi) Random Phase Approximation ((Q)RPA) framework implemented with the Gogny ...

Diagnostic accuracy of (1→3)-β-D-glucan to predict Pneumocystis jirovecii pneumonia in non-HIV-infected patients

open access: yesRadiology and Oncology, 2020
Pneumocystis jirovecii pneumonia (PCP) is a common and potentially fatal opportunistic infection in immunocompromised non-HIV individuals. There are problems with clinical and diagnostic protocols for PCP that lack sensitivity and specificity.

Measurement of the γ emission probability of 173Yb using surrogate reactions

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2015
We performed the 174Yb(p,d) reaction in order to measure the gamma-emission probability of 173Yb. The identification of the ejectiles — allowing us to tag the production of 173Yb nuclei — was performed using the STARLiTeR detector system. Unusually, the “

Deformed Implicit Field: Modeling 3D Shapes with Learned Dense Correspondence [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
We propose a novel Deformed Implicit Field (DIF) representation for modeling 3D shapes of a category and generating dense correspondences among shapes. With DIF, a 3D shape is represented by a template implicit field shared across the category, together with a 3D deformation field and a correction field dedicated for each shape instance.

Detection of Anticipatory Dynamics Between a Pair of Zebrafish [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2021
Trajectories from a pair of interacting zebrafish are used to test for the existence of anticipatory dynamics in natural systems. Anticipatory dynamics (AD) is unusual in that causal events are not necessarily ordered by their temporal order. However, their causal order can still be established if the direction of information flow (DIF) is known.

Detection of Uniform and Non-Uniform Differential Item Functioning by Item Focussed Trees [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2015
Detection of differential item functioning by use of the logistic modelling approach has a long tradition. One big advantage of the approach is that it can be used to investigate non-uniform DIF as well as uniform DIF. The classical approach allows to detect DIF by distinguishing between multiple groups.

Performance of Multi-group DIF Methods in Assessing Cross-Country Score Comparability of International Large-Scale Assessments [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
Standardized large-scale testing can be a debatable topic, in which test fairness sits at its very core. This study found that two out of five recent multi-group DIF detection methods are capable of capturing both the uniform and nonuniform DIF that affects test fairness.

Khaos: The Impact of Inter-procedural Code Obfuscation on Binary Diffing Techniques [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
Software obfuscation techniques can prevent binary diffing techniques from locating vulnerable code by obfuscating the third-party code, to achieve the purpose of protecting embedded device software. With the rapid development of binary diffing techniques, they can achieve more and more accurate function matching and identification by extracting the ...

Detailed Opacity Calculations for Astrophysical Applications

open access: yesAtoms, 2017
Nowadays, several opacity codes are able to provide data for stellar structure models, but the computed opacities may show significant differences. In this work, we present state-of-the-art precise spectral opacity calculations, illustrated by stellar ...
