JAGGED controls Arabidopsis petal growth and shape by interacting with a divergent polarity field.

open access: yesPLoS Biology, 2013
A flowering plant generates many different organs such as leaves, petals, and stamens, each with a particular function and shape. These types of organ are thought to represent variations on a common underlying developmental program.

Dynamics of cell polarity in tissue morphogenesis: a comparative view from Drosophila and Ciona [version 1; referees: 2 approved]

open access: yesF1000Research, 2016
Tissues in developing embryos exhibit complex and dynamic rearrangements that shape forming organs, limbs, and body axes. Directed migration, mediolateral intercalation, lumen formation, and other rearrangements influence the topology and topography of ...

Interpreting the effects of DNA polymerase variants at the structural level

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using MAVISp and molecular dynamics simulations, we analyzed over 60 000 missense variants in POLE and POLD1 from ClinVar, COSMIC, cBioPortal, and saturation mutagenesis. Identified mechanistic indicators, including stability, binding, and long‐range, enable structural interpretation, providing ACMG‐like evidence for possible reclassification of VUS ...

Study on the machining performance of Ti6Al4V titanium alloy by negative polarity Near-dry electrical discharge milling

open access: yesResults in Engineering
Near-dry electrical discharge milling (EDM) technology is a green machining technology variant of electrical discharge machining, and there is also a phenomenon of processing polarity effects where positive and negative polarity machining produce ...

Non-Contact Measurement and Polarity Discrimination-Based Identification Method for Direct Lightning Strokes

open access: yesEnergies, 2019
Direct lightning strokes account for a large proportion of line faults. Lightning faults can be classified into several kinds, and the corresponding protection methods differ.

Moral Polarization: Different from Affective and Issue Polarization

open access: yes
Societal polarization is frequently treated as a unitary phenomenon. Yet theoretical and empirical work suggests that polarization can take distinct forms, each of which may follow different underlyingdynamics. Distinguishing between issue polarization, affective polarization, and moral polarization, the present study examined both interrelations and ...

DNA methylation and expression of MAPRE3 affect overall survival of early‐stage non‐small cell lung cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Both cg12821679MAPRE3 methylation and MAPRE3 expression are significantly associated with overall survival (OS) of non‐small cell lung cancer. Meanwhile, MAPRE3 expression significantly modified the effect of smoking cessation on OS. Smoking cessation benefits OS merely for patients with high MAPRE3 expression.

A novel quinazolinone insulin receptor inhibitor and its synergy with an EGFR inhibitor in glucose‐driven glioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in

Difference in the Enhancing Effects of Ultrasound on the Skin Permeation of Polar and Non-polar Drugs.

open access: yesChemical and Pharmaceutical Bulletin, 1996
The effect of ultrasound (150 kHz, 111 mW/cm2) on the permeability of isosorbide dinitrate (ISDN) and antipyrine (ANP) through excised hairless rat skin was evaluated using an Arrhenius plot. The permeability coefficients of ISDN across skin (at various temperatures) in the presence and absence of ultrasound were virtually isolinear on the Arrhenius ...
