A potential technology applied in optical storage, the polarization holography has attracted much attention. In polarization holography, not only the amplitude and phase but also the polarization state is applied to record the information. What is meant by faithful reconstruction is that the reconstructed wave is identical to the signal wave.

pH‐mediated activation of the lysosomal arginine sensor SLC38A9
Cells monitor nutrient levels via the lysosomal transporter SLC38A9 to activate the mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1 (mTORC1). This study reveals that SLC38A9 function is regulated by pH. We identified histidine 544 as a critical pH sensor that undergoes conformational changes to control amino acid efflux from lysosomes; therefore, it ...

Effect of stimulus polarity on speech evoked auditory brainstem response
The aim of the present study was to investigate the effect of stimulus polarity on speech evoked auditory brainstem response (ABR). In order to accomplish it, speech evoked ABR was recorded with various stimulus polarities from 17 normally hearing adults.

Septin 9 polybasic domains couple phosphoinositide‐rich membrane binding to centrosome positioning, Golgi organization, and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity. Their loss disrupts this axis, causing centrosome mispositioning, Golgi fragmentation, reduced microtubule acetylation, and polarity inversion via upregulation of the ...

Aerosol charging state at an urban site: new analytical approach and implications for ion-induced nucleation [PDF]
The charging state of aerosol populations was determined using an Ion-DMPS in Helsinki, Finland between December 2008 and February 2010. We extrapolated the charging state and calculated the ion-induced nucleation fraction to be around 1.3 % ± 0.4 % at 2

Difference of Solution Regions due to Net Polarity
Solution for the XOR problem are formulated by normal vectors orthogonal to separation hyperplanes when nonlinear units are given by threshold functions. The shapes of solution regions are shown to be different for bipolar and unipolar nets. This suggests that attractors for BP leaning depend on polarity.

Different Methods to Determine the Polar Cap Area.
The distribution of field-aligned currents (FAC) during quiet and disturbed periods is calculated with the Magnetogram Inversion Technique (MIT). The polar cap boundary is determined as the high-latitude boundary of the region 1 FAC. Statistical results on the location and size of the polar cap obtained from MIT are compared with those from two ...

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

Meru couples planar cell polarity with apical-basal polarity during asymmetric cell division
Polarity is a shared feature of most cells. In epithelia, apical-basal polarity often coexists, and sometimes intersects with planar cell polarity (PCP), which orients cells in the epithelial plane. From a limited set of core building blocks (e.g.
