A novel numerical approach for solving fractional order differential equations using hybrid functions

open access: yesAIMS Mathematics, 2021
This article presents a novel numerical method for seeking the numerical solutions of fractional order differential equations using hybrid functions consisting of block-pulse functions and Taylor polynomials.

Optimal Greedy Control in Reinforcement Learning

open access: yesSensors, 2022
We consider the problem of dimensionality reduction of state space in the variational approach to the optimal control problem, in particular, in the reinforcement learning method.

Small-Signal Stability Analysis for Non-Index 1 Hessenberg Form Systems of Delay Differential-Algebraic Equations

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems Part 1: Regular Papers, 2016
This paper focuses on the small-signal stability analysis of systems modelled as differential-algebraic equations and with inclusions of delays in both differential equations and algebraic constraints.

Harmonic solutions to a class of differential-algebraic equations with separated variables [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
We study the set of T-periodic solutions of a class of T-periodically perturbed Differential-Algebraic Equations with separated variables. Under suitable hypotheses, these equations are equivalent to separated variables ODEs on a manifold.

Extensions of differential representations of SL(2) and tori

open access: yes, 2011
Linear differential algebraic groups (LDAGs) measure differential algebraic dependencies among solutions of linear differential and difference equations with parameters, for which LDAGs are Galois groups.

Hopfield Neural Networks for Online Constrained Parameter Estimation With Time‐Varying Dynamics and Disturbances

open access: yesInternational Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, EarlyView.
This paper proposes two projector‐based Hopfield neural network (HNN) estimators for online, constrained parameter estimation under time‐varying data, additive disturbances, and slowly drifting physical parameters. The first is a constraint‐aware HNN that enforces linear equalities and inequalities (via slack neurons) and continuously tracks the ...

The $16$th Hilbert problem on algebraic limit cycles [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
For real planar polynomial differential systems there appeared a simple version of the $16$th Hilbert problem on algebraic limit cycles: {\it Is there an upper bound on the number of algebraic limit cycles of all polynomial vector fields of degree $m ...

An Adaptive Human Pilot Model With Reaction Time Delay for Enhanced Adaptive Control in Piloted Systems

open access: yesInternational Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, EarlyView.
This work introduces an adaptive human pilot model that captures pilot time‐delay effects in adaptive control systems. The model enables the prediction of pilot–controller interactions, facilitating safer integration and improved design of adaptive controllers for piloted applications.

Unprecedented Spin‐Lifetime of Itinerant Electrons in Natural Graphite Crystals

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Graphite exhibits extraordinary spintronic potential, with electron spin lifetimes reaching 1,000 ns at room temperature ‐ over 100 times longer than graphene‐based devices. Magnetic resonance spectroscopy reveals strong anisotropy: out‐of‐plane spins live 50 times longer than their in‐plane counterparts.

Nonlinear elliptic problems with the method of finite volumes

open access: yesDifferential Equations and Nonlinear Mechanics, 2006
We present a finite volume discretization of the nonlinear elliptic problems. The discretization results in a nonlinear algebraic system of equations.
