Guidelines for Pediatric Radiotherapy Simulation: A Report From the Children's Oncology Group Radiation Oncology Discipline

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Pediatric radiation therapy presents unique challenges compared to adult treatments, including those of immobilization, potential need for sedation, and the critical importance of accurate, reproducible positioning. Additionally, heightened attention to imaging doses is necessary to minimize long‐term toxicity in survivors.

Low-Complexity Differential Spatial Modulation Schemes for a Lot of Antennas

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
Spatial modulation (SM) uses a single antenna for transmission each time to avoid synchronization and interferences among transmitter antennas, and differential SM (DSM) is a kind of SM technique that does not need pilot symbols and channel estimation ...

The Role of “Adult‐Onset” Cancer Predisposition Genes in Pediatric Cancer: A Comprehensive Review

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Current literature estimates that 10% of pediatric cancers are caused by pathogenic or likely pathogenic (P/LP) germline variants in cancer predisposition genes (CPGs). Variants in CPGs thought to increase cancer risk exclusively during adulthood are referred to as “adult‐onset” CPGs (aoCPGs).

Health Literacy, Self‐Efficacy and Knowledge of Sickle Cell Disease Among Caregivers

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Sickle cell disease (SCD) is a hereditary blood disorder in which abnormal haemoglobin leads to severe anaemia, painful crises and organ failure. Caregivers’ health literacy (HL) – their ability to assess, understand and apply information, and interact with healthcare professionals – is crucial for managing children with SCD, yet ...

Low-Complexity Self-Coherent Optical Transmission Scheme Based on Dual-Fiber Differential Detection

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal
To address the demand for low cost and low power consumption in short- to medium-reach optical interconnects, this paper proposes a self-coherent optical transmission scheme based on dual-fiber differential detection.

Ironic Medications: A Narrative‐Based Psycho‐Educational Intervention to Explore Patient–Provider Communication in Adolescents With Haematological Cancer

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Adolescents with haematological malignancies face significant emotional and relational challenges, often accompanied by difficulties in communicating their needs within the healthcare context. To address these issues, a narrative‐based psycho‐educational intervention based on the creation and prescription of Ironic Medications was ...

Sensitivity Improvement via Differential Detection for Frequency-Locking Diamond Magnetometers

open access: yesMicromachines
The magnetic resonance frequency-locking technique is recognized as an effective approach for simultaneously improving the dynamic range, performance stability, and measurement precision of diamond nitrogen vacancy (NV)-center magnetometers. Nevertheless,

A differential detection scheme for transmit diversity [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Journal on Selected Areas in Communications, 2000
We present a transmission scheme for exploiting diversity given by two transmit antennas when neither the transmitter nor the receiver has access to channel state information. The new detection scheme can use PSK constellations and encoding is simple. At the receiver, decoding is achieved with low decoding complexity.

Incidence and Severity of Carboplatin‐Associated Hearing Loss in Children With Cancer Assessed by the SIOP Boston 2012 Ototoxicity Criteria

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Platinum‐based chemotherapy is known to cause severe and debilitating hearing loss, but unlike cisplatin, the true incidence of carboplatin‐induced hearing loss remains unclear. We evaluated functional hearing outcomes in children receiving carboplatin to determine the incidence and severity of ototoxicity. Procedure We identified a
