AN AGAR MEDIUM FOR THE DIFFERENTIAL ENUMERATION OF YOGURT STARTER BACTERIA1,2

Journal of Milk and Food Technology, 1974
Generally, Streptococcus thermophilus ferments sucrose, whereas Lactobacillus bulgaricus fails to utilize this disaccharide. When both sucrose and lactose were added to a basal medium, S. thermophilus fermented both carbon sources, produced sufficient acid to change the color of an acid-base indicator (bromcresol purple), and hence formed yellow ...

Differential Bias Attack for Block Cipher Under Randomized Leakage with Key Enumeration

Lecture Notes in Computer Science, 2017
In the formal analysis of side-channel attacks, a theoretical model of side-channel information (leakage model) is supposed and dedicated attacks for the model are considered. In ASIACRYPT2015, a new leakage model for the analysis of block cipher was proposed by Bogdanov et al.

Enumeration, Kinematic, Static and Mechanical Efficiency Analysis of Differential Screw Mechanisms

Journal of Mechanisms and Robotics, 2009
Although differential screw mechanisms are widely used in precision mechanisms to control fine relative movements, their enumeration and systematic methods of analysis seem less widespread. In this paper methods to support the preliminary design steps of these devices are proposed.

A Meet-in-the-Middle Attack on Round-Reduced mCrypton Using the Differential Enumeration Technique

Lecture Notes in Computer Science, 2014
This paper describes a meet-in-the-middle (MITM) attack against the round reduced versions of the block cipher mCrypton-64/96/ 128. We construct a 4-round distinguisher and lower the memory requirement from 2100 to 244 using the differential enumeration technique.

A method for the differential microscopic enumeration of Halobacterium cells

Journal of Microbiological Methods, 1989
Abstract When hypersaline brines are treated with low concentrations of bile salts, such as sodium deoxycholate or sodium taurocholate, Halobacterium and related halophilic archaebacteria lyse while both halophilic eubacteria and halococci remain intact.

Comparison of two selective media for the recovery, isolation, enumeration and differentiation of Rhodococcus equi

Veterinary Microbiology, 2007
The use of selective media to facilitate the isolation of Rhodococcus equi from environmental and clinical samples has aided studies of the ecology of R. equi and the epidemiology of disease caused by R. equi. Here, we compared the efficacy of two selective media (NANAT and modified CAZ-NB) for the recovery of six defined strains of R. equi and for the

On the differential equations for the transition probabilities of Markov processes with enumerably many states

Mathematical Proceedings of the Cambridge Philosophical Society, 1953
Letpik(s, t) (i, k= 1, 2, …;s≤t) be the transition probabilities of a Markov process in a system with an enumerable set of states. The states are labelled by positive integers, andpik(s, t) is the conditional probability that the system be in statekat timet, given that it was in stateiat an earlier times. If certain regularity conditions are imposed on ...

Development of a selective and differential media for the isolation and enumeration of Bacillus cereus from food samples

Journal of Applied Microbiology, 2020
Identification and enumeration of foodborne pathogens in food stuffs are valuable concerns. In the present study, starch-blood-egg yolk-polymyxin B-trimethoprim-ceftazidime (SBYPTC) agar was established to isolate and specify the number of Bacillus cereus in food products. The effectiveness of the developed medium in selecting for B.

Evaluation of Six Cytometric Methods for Reticulocyte Enumeration and Differentiationin the Cat

Veterinary Clinical Pathology, 1995
Six protocols utilizing three fluorescent nucleic acid dyes (thiazole orange, auramine O, and acridine orange) were evaluated by flow cytometry for clinical utility in the analysis of feline reticulocytes. The dyes showed good to poor correlations with each other and with manual counts. Thiazole orange was the preferred stain.

Partial differential approximants for multivariable power series. III. Enumeration of invariance transformations

Proceedings of the Royal Society of London. A. Mathematical and Physical Sciences, 1983
Abstract A partial differential approximant (or an ordinary rational approximant) which approximates a function, f(x, y), of two variables may be invariant under certain changes of variable (x, y) ⇒ (x¯, y¯). We prove that, under fairly mild conditions, such invariance is possible for only five classes of variable transformations ...
