Design and Evaluation of Digital Baseband Converter Sub-channel Delay Compensation Method on Bandwidth Synthesis [PDF]

open access: yesRadioengineering, 2015
The effect of sub-channel delay on bandwidth synthesis is investigated to eliminate the “phase step” phenomenon in bandwidth synthesis during the test of CDBE (Chinese Digital Backend).

Limitations on Hybrid WDM/OTDM Multicast Overlay System Imposed by Nonlinear Polarization Effect and its Mitigation

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2017
This paper investigates the nonlinear polarization effect of 120-Gbps polarization and subcarrier multiplexed unicast signal and 40-Gbps multicast signal on transmission performance of hybrid WDM/OTDM multicast overlay system.

The ubiquitin ligase RNF115 is required for the clearance of damaged lysosomes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Upon lysosomal rupture, an E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF115 translocates from the cytosol to the damaged lysosomal membrane. Moreover, RNF115 depletion impairs the clearance of damaged lysosomes, identifying it as a key regulator of lysosomal quality control.

Optimal Design of High-Channel-Count Fiber Bragg Grating Filters With Low Index Modulation Using an Improved Differential Evolution Algorithm

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2013
An effective optimization method based on a self-adaptive differential evolution (DE) algorithm is proposed to design high-channel-count fiber Bragg grating (FBG) filters.

PARK(ing) time–How park deficiency affects the biological clock in a Drosophila model of Parkinson's disease

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Drosophila park mutants serve as a model for Parkinson's disease. We used this strain to investigate the connection between oxidative stress and the circadian clock mechanism. We showed that increased oxidative stress affects the physiology of pacemaker cells, disrupting their daily structural plasticity. Lack of rhythmic signaling from pacemaker cells

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Patient and health care system delays in the start of tuberculosis treatment in Norway

open access: yesBMC Infectious Diseases, 2006
Background Delay in start of tuberculosis (TB) treatment has an impact at both the individual level, by increasing the risk of morbidity and mortality, and at the community level, by increasing the risk of transmission.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Pre‐analytical optimization of cell‐free DNA and extracellular vesicle‐derived DNA for mutation detection in liquid biopsies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pre‐analytical handling critically determines liquid biopsy performance. This study defines practical best‐practice conditions for cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) and extracellular vesicle–derived DNA (evDNA), showing how processing time, storage conditions, tube type, and plasma input volume affect DNA integrity and mutation detection.
