Chiral Sensor Devices for Differentiation of Enantiomers

2013
Differentiation of enantiomers remains one of the most attractive and important research areas in analytical chemistry due to its impact on pharmaceutical, chemical, biotechnology, and food industries. For a long time chiral separation techniques, such as high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), gas chromatography (GC), and capillary ...

On-Chip Implementable Autocalibration of Sensor Offset for Differential Capacitive Sensor Interfaces

IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement, 2021
In this article, we propose an autocalibration method to cancel out the mismatch between the sensing capacitors in differential capacitive sensors. The proposed autocalibration logic is implemented with the help of a field-programmable gate array (FPGA) and a few discrete components that can be integrated fully on-chip.

A differential magnetic position sensor

Sensors and Actuators A: Physical, 2000
This paper presents a new structure of a magnetic sensor. The output signal is proportional to the angular position. The originality of the structure comes from its design that permits the measurement of the sum of two magnetic inductions which is a constant.

Magnetic differential torque sensor

IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, 1995
A new torque sensor structure is presented. The basic idea is a simple torque sensor with a variable magnetic circuit excited by an axially magnetized permanent magnet ring. The circuit is constituted by iron toothed rings, whose teeth relative position changes whenever an applied torque twists the rotating shaft. A Hall probe measures the induction in

A fast differential paramagnetic O2-sensor

International Journal of Clinical Monitoring and Computing, 1988
A differential oxygen sensor using the paramagnetic principle in a pneumatic bridge configuration has been constructed and tested. The signal being picked up with a differential pressure transducer is generated in a measuring cell with a strong magnetic field being switched on and off with a frequency of 110 Hz.

Differential Piezoresistive Pressure Sensor

2007 International Semiconductor Conference, 2007
The pressure microsensor presented in this paper is based on a thin, elastic membrane, with boron implanted piezoresistive elements included, positioned in the maximum mechanical stress areas on the membrane. The pressure range for the developed sensors is in the 0divide400 mbar range, and this is the main novelty of this device.

Differential amplification magnetic sensor

IEEE Transactions on Electron Devices, 1972
The differential amplification magnetic sensor (DAMS) comprises a rectangular Hall device and two transistors. These three elements are not only integrated as a monolithic IC, but are also made smaller by using the Hall region as the common base of the transistors, the collectors of which are used to isolate the Hall region from the substrate ...

Differential Amplifier Sensor Architecture for Increased Sensor Selectivity

IEEE Transactions on Nanotechnology, 2011
The use of a differential amplifier sensor architecture has been investigated as a route to improved sensor selectivity. Carbon nanotube FETs (CNTFETs) are used as both the transistors in a differential amplifier as well as chemical-sensing elements. Chemical functionalization of the CNTFETs can result in selective sensing.

Sensor fusion for differential encoder integrated with light intensity sensors and accelerometer

2009 IEEE International Symposium on Computational Intelligence in Robotics and Automation - (CIRA), 2009
This paper proposed mainly fusions between encoders and light intensity sensors and between encoders and accelerometer for distance increment with Kalman filter to estimate robot's position. A developed fusion algorithm between differential encoder system and light intensity sensor, and accelerometer is analyzed and experimental tested in square shape.
