Multidisciplinary Team‐Assisted Rescue of Innominate Artery Hemorrhage During Tracheotomy for Bilateral Vocal Cord Paralysis Post‐Thyroidectomy for Thyroid Cancer: A Case Report and Scoping Literature Review

open access: yesLaryngoscope Investigative Otolaryngology, Volume 11, Issue 1, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Objectives The purpose of this study is to present a case of innominate artery (IA) rupture during tracheotomy, along with its prevention and emergency management. We also conducted a scoping review of the literature on IA hemorrhage during tracheotomy.

Assessment of difficult laryngoscopy by electronically measured maxillo-pharyngeal angle on lateral cervical radiograph: A prospective study

open access: yesSaudi Journal of Anaesthesia, 2010
Background: Difficult airway continued to be a major cause of anesthesia-related morbidity and mortality. Successful airway management depends on direct laryngoscopy and tracheal intubation.

Airway management and mechanical ventilation using the Ventrain in a cat for surgical repair of an intrathoracic tracheal avulsion

open access: yesVeterinary Record Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 1, February 2026.
Abstract This report describes the complex management of an 11‐month‐old male cat with an intrathoracic tracheal avulsion following blunt trauma, a rare but critical injury typically associated with vehicular accidents. Presenting with severe dyspnoea 10 days after a car accident, the cat exhibited a marked narrowing of the tracheal lumen to 1.2 mm ...

PREDICTION OF DIFFICULT LARYNGOSCOPY BY ULTRASOUND GUIDED VALUATION OF ANTERIOR NECK SOFT TISSUE THICKNESS.

open access: yesInternational Journal of Advanced Research, 2019
difficult laryngoscopy. However, USG guided measurements at the level of hyoid bone and anterior commissure of vocal cords showed a higher specificity and sensitivity for the prediction of difficult laryngoscopy.

Unexpected intraoperative hypoxaemia in a healthy dog undergoing TPLO

open access: yesVeterinary Record Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 1, February 2026.
Abstract A period of hypoxaemia was unexpectedly detected in an otherwise healthy 10‐year‐old dog undergoing tibial plateau levelling osteotomy surgery. Hypoxaemia developed approximately 10 minutes after the start of surgery. Simultaneously, the plane of anaesthesia was persistently light. Lung compliance was subjectively poor.

Previsional space during direct laryngoscopy

open access: yesMedicine, 2017
The laryngoscope should displace oral soft tissues forward out of the operator's vision. Therefore, the space in front of the view may be critical for determining the laryngoscopic view. The aim was to investigate the difference in the previsional space during difficult versus easy laryngoscopy (EL).Under general anesthesia, digital photographs of the ...

Radiologic indicators for prediction of difficult laryngoscopy in patients with cervical spondylosis

open access: yesActa Anaesthesiologica Scandinavica, 2018
We identified the most useful variables for prediction of difficult laryngoscopy in patients with cervical spondylosis according to physical indicators and preoperative skeletal X‐ray and soft tissue MRI measurements.
