Latent image diffraction from submicron photoresist gratings [PDF]

open access: yes, 1992
Light scattering from latent images in photoresist is useful for lithographic tool characterization, process monitoring, and process control. In particular, closed‐loop control of lithographic processes is critical for high yield, low cost device ...

The Infrared Imaging Spectrograph (IRIS) for TMT: Volume phase holographic grating performance testing and discussion [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Maximizing the grating efficiency is a key goal for the first light instrument IRIS (Infrared Imaging Spectrograph) currently being designed to sample the diffraction limit of the TMT (Thirty Meter Telescope). Volume Phase Holographic (VPH) gratings have

Gelatin as a Photosensitive Material

open access: yesMolecules, 2018
Because this issue journal is dedicated to Gelatin, here we present a few applications of gelatin in the field of optics. Optics is the science that studies the production, propagation, interaction and detection of light.

Optimal Control of Passive Cascaded Liquid Crystal Polarization Gratings

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2023
The incidence angle of a beam entering a liquid crystal variable retarder (LCVR) and the liquid crystal polarization grating (LCPG) is greater when the LCPG is utilized in the quadrature cascade, which reduces the diffraction efficiency.

ANALYSIS OF THE DIFFRACTION EFFICIENCY OF ONE-DIMENSIONAL BINARY DIFFRACTION GRATING BY THE PLANE WAVE EXPANSION METHOD (THE TE-POLARIZATION CASE)

open access: yesИзвестия высших учебных заведений. Поволжский регион: Физико-математические науки, 2020
Background. The aim of this work is to study the diffraction of an electromagnetic TE-wave by one-dimensional cylindrical diffraction gratings. Material and methods.

Improving the diffraction efficiency of structures in direct laser writing using obliquely incident beams: modeling and experiment

open access: yesКомпьютерная оптика, 2023
A brief review of methods for increasing the diffraction efficiency of optical elements synthesized by direct laser writing is done. It is noted that the previously proposed methods for recording the topology of similar elements using volumetric or ...

Optical Design of a Slitless Astronomical Spectrograph with a Composite Holographic Grism

open access: yesPhotonics, 2023
In the present work, we consider an optical design of a slitless spectrograph for an existing 0.5 m-class telescope. This design concept has a number of advantages such as compact size, simplicity, and simultaneous coverage of a large field of view.

Transmissive Suppressed-Order Diffraction Grating (SODG)

open access: yes, 2019
We present a novel type of Suppressed-Order Diffraction Grating(SODG). An SODG is a diffraction grating whose diffraction orders have all been suppressed except one that is selected to provide electromagnetic deflection.

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

Enzymatic degradation of biopolymers in amorphous and molten states: mechanisms and applications

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This review explains how polymer morphology and thermal state shape enzymatic degradation pathways, comparing amorphous and molten biopolymer structures. By integrating structure–reactivity principles with insights from thermodynamics and enzyme engineering, it highlights mechanisms that enable efficient polymer breakdown.
