Diffraction Grating Spectroscopy
Applied Optics, 1969The present state of grating spectroscopy is reviewed with special emphasis on the far ir. The review includes the discussion of the properties of diffraction gratings, the intensity distribution among different orders of echelette gratings, Wood anomalies, ir and submillimeterwave filters, detectors, grating spectrometers with thermal sources, rules ...

Polarizing diffraction-grating triplicators
Optics Letters, 2001We report experimental results with a reflective continuous anisotropic polarizing diffraction-grating beam splitter that produces three diffraction orders. The diffraction efficiencies and polarizations of the diffracted orders are controlled through the incoming polarization state and by use of a wave plate with arbitrary orientation located between ...

Vortex sensing diffraction gratings
Optics Letters, 2009We demonstrate a specially designed vortex sensing diffraction grating that generates multiple vortex patterns in the different diffracted orders. When this grating is illuminated with a separate vortex beam, the sign and order of the topological charge of the incident beam can be easily detected.

Weighted optical diffraction gratings
Applied Optics, 1988This paper describes the behavior of optical diffraction gratings which have been weighted in various ways analogous to those used in surface acoustic wave devices. It is shown experimentally and theoretically that a wide variety of 2-D responses can be achieved by these means.

Generalized Curvilinear Diffraction Gratings: III . Euclidian diffraction gratings
Optica Acta: International Journal of Optics, 1983This paper is the third in a series of papers on the diffraction and imaging properties of generalized curvilinear diffraction gratings. Here we study classes of plane uncrossed diffraction gratings which have the common property that their Fourier transform patterns consist of sharp-line caustics. These types of generalized gratings are referred to as

Abstract A ‘conventional’ spectrometer receives light through an entrance slit, separates out (disperses) the frequencies in the light by some means, and focuses each frequency to its own place at the output. When the light contains discrete frequencies, a set of bright lines is seen at the output, each of which is an image of the ...
