Diffraction performance calculations in lens design

SPIE Proceedings, 1990
The wavefront deformation may be calculated in two different manners, one is by computing the optical path difference for the rays while computing the spot diagram. The other is by obtaining the wavefront from integration of the transverse aberrations. Both of these methods have their own limitations and advantages.

Spectrum and space resolved 4D imaging by coded aperture correlation holography (COACH) with diffractive objective lens.

Optics Letters, 2017
In this Letter, we present an advanced optical configuration of coded aperture correlation holography (COACH) with a diffractive objective lens. Four-dimensional imaging of objects at the three spatial dimensions and with an additional spectral dimension

Achromatized hybrid diffractive lens systems

International Lens Design, 1990
We have investigated the design of broadband hybrid diffractive-refractive lens systems for simple camera systems. When achromatizing one of these systems one typically considers only one diffracted order, assuming 100% efficiency. Kinoform structures can approach 100% efficiency at one wavelength, but it inevitably decreases for other wavelengths ...

The Diffractive Multifocal Intraocular Lens

European Journal of Implant and Refractive Surgery, 1989
The optical properties of a diffractive multifocal intraocular lens are discussed. The lens possesses two powers, and utilizes the `simultaneous vision' principle where two images are formed at different axial locations. Distant objects are correctly imaged by one power, and near objects are imaged by the other.

Variable focus crystal diffraction lens

Review of Scientific Instruments, 1989
A new method has been developed to control the shape of the surface of a diffracting crystal that will allow it to function as a variable focus crystal diffraction lens for focusing photon beams from a synchrotron source. The new method uses thermal gradients in the crystal to control the shape of the surface of the crystal in two dimensions and allows
