Diffuse Pollution in the Lagoon of Venice

open access: yesWater Science and Technology, 1993
The hypertrophic conditions of several confined areas in the Lagoon of Venice are but one of the consequences of nutrient discharges from its drainage basin. The monthly distribution of these loads, as well as their spacial subdivision among different tributaries of this characteristic water body, directly affect the growth cycle of macroalgae in it ...

LEAD DISTRIBUTION BY URBAN SEDIMENTS ON IMPERMEABLE AREAS OF PORTO ALEGRE – RS, BRAZIL

open access: yesJournal of Urban and Environmental Engineering, 2010
Heavy metals, like lead (Pb), are subproducts of industrial activities; however, in recent years, studies have shown that even in non-industrial areas, elevated concentrations of this element have been found.

Tuning Amorphous‐Crystalline Catalytic Interfaces by Mechanochemistry: Cu‐Based Metallic Glasses Coupled with Ceria for CO Oxidation

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Ball‐milling Cu‐based metallic glasses with ceria creates a unique nanostructure where metallic glass particles are wrapped by CeO2 nanoparticles. The intimate integration triggers copper state reorganization during reaction and aging, boosting CO oxidation and COPrOx activity.

2D MOF with Intrinsic Porosity for Colorimetric Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) Detection

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
An uncommon 2D MOF with intrinsic in‐plane porosity that can be mechanically exfoliated undergoes a distinct and reversible colour change upon exposure to various volatile organic compounds. ABSTRACT In this work, we report an uncommon 2D metal–organic framework (MOF) with intrinsic in‐plane porosity that undergoes a distinct and reversible colour ...
