Simple instrument for the chracterization of diffuse reflectance
An apparatus for the measurement ofthe radial dependence ofthe continuous-wave diffuse reflectance ofa tissue is described. It consists in a probe, which is applied on the tissue, and a detection unit.

MANGANESE(II) DETERMINATION BY DIFFUSE REFLECTANCE SPECTROSCOPY
Results of testing a prototype light-emitting diod miniphotometer for rapid and sensitive elements determination both in laboratory and in field conditions are presented. The new photometer consists of two devices providing measurements of absorbance and

Diffuse Reflection Radius in a Simple Polygon [PDF]
It is shown that every simple polygon in general position with $n$ walls can be illuminated from a single point light source $s$ after at most $\lfloor (n-2)/4\rfloor$ diffuse reflections, and this bound is the best possible. A point $s$ with this property can be computed in $O(n\log n)$ time.

Organoids in pediatric cancer research
Organoid technology has revolutionized cancer research, yet its application in pediatric oncology remains limited. Recent advances have enabled the development of pediatric tumor organoids, offering new insights into disease biology, treatment response, and interactions with the tumor microenvironment.

Design of experiments methodology in studying near-infrared spectral information of model intact tablets : simultaneous determination of metoprolol tartrate and hydrochlorothiazide in solid dosage forms and powder compressibility assessment using near-infrared spectroscopy [PDF]
Near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) is applied in pharmaceutical industry for monitoring drug content during tablet manufacturing process. NIRS method, once developed and validated, is used over years and it is of critical importance to insure method ...

Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Plasma membranes contain dynamic nanoscale domains that organize lipids and receptors. Because viruses operate at similar scales, this architecture shapes early infection steps, including attachment, receptor engagement, and entry. Using influenza A virus and HIV‐1 as examples, we highlight how receptor nanoclusters, multivalent glycan interactions ...
