Numerical Investigation into the Effects of Design Parameters on the Flow Characteristics in a Turbine Exhaust Diffuser

open access: yesEnergies, 2021
In this study, we numerically investigated the effects of design parameters, such as the strut geometry or diffusion angle, on the performance of an industrial turbine exhaust diffuser.

Diffusion on diffusing particles

open access: yesDiffusion Fundamentals, 2007
We investigate random walk of a particle constrained on cells, where cells behave as a lattice gas on a two dimensional square lattice. By Monte Carlo simulation, we obtain the mean first passage time of the particle as a function of the density and temperature of the lattice gas. We find that the transportation of the particle becomes anomalously slow

From the diffusion coefficient to the diffusion tensor [PDF]

open access: yesNMR in Biomedicine, 2002
AbstractWith diffusion tensor MRI one has access to the organization in space of tissue microstructural components. This outstanding potential adds, however, another layer of complexity to the diffusion MRI data acquisition and analysis processes. Over the last few years many articles have been published dealing with those matters.

Diffusion and quantification of diffusion of prostate cancer

open access: yesThe British Journal of Radiology, 2021
For assessing a cancer treatment, and for detecting and characterizing cancer, Diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) is commonly used. The key in DWI’s use extracranially has been due to the emergence of of high-gradient amplitude and multichannel coils, parallelimaging, and echo-planar imaging.

Organoids in pediatric cancer research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Organoid technology has revolutionized cancer research, yet its application in pediatric oncology remains limited. Recent advances have enabled the development of pediatric tumor organoids, offering new insights into disease biology, treatment response, and interactions with the tumor microenvironment.

Effects of turbulence intensity and length scale on the flame location of premixed turbulent combustion in a diffuser combustor

open access: yesJournal of Thermal Science and Technology, 2017
This study focused on the dependency of the flame location of a premixed propane-air flame on turbulence intensity and length scale. The flame location was investigated using a diffuser-type combustor to show the response of the flame location to varying

Analysis of the influence of grooves in the diffuser on total pressure losses

open access: yesАвіаційно-космічна техніка та технологія, 2023
The subject of the study is the total pressure in the diffuser channel with passive control of the boundary layer. The object of this research is a diffuser channel with riblets.

Experimental and Numerical Investigation of Unforced unsteadiness in a Vaneless Radial Diffuser [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
The paper reports combined experimental and numerical investigations of unforced un- steadiness in a vaneless radial diffuser. Experimental data were obtained within the diffuser using stereoscopic time resolved Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) recording

The planar cell polarity protein Vangl2 interacts with the PDZ‐domains of Scribble but not with a unique PDZ‐like domain in Inturned

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...
