Longitudinal measurement of the developing grey matter in preterm subjects using multi-modal MRI. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Preterm birth is a major public health concern, with the severity and occurrence of adverse outcome increasing with earlier delivery. Being born preterm disrupts a time of rapid brain development: in addition to volumetric growth, the cortex folds ...

Glioblastoma with markedly reduced contrast enhancement after corticosteroid administration: Increased density and reduced diffusion capability are noteworthy

open access: yesRadiology Case Reports
Corticosteroids are widely used to manage peritumoral edema and associated neurological deficits in patients with brain tumors. We describe the case of a 71-year-old male patient with glioblastoma in which contrast enhancement decreased on radiographic ...

HOF‐Stabilized Apple EV Nanocargo in an NIR‐Responsive Hydrogel Enables On‐Demand Therapeutic Modulation for Transdermal Deep‐Joint Osteoarthritis Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
An NIR‐responsive transdermal hydrogel integrating apple EV nanocargo, berberine, piperine, HOFs, and graphene oxide enables localized osteoarthritis modulation. The platform supports enhanced transdermal delivery together with mild hyperthermia‐associated and redox‐related responses, leading to reduced inflammation and oxidative stress, improved ...

High resolution MRI of the brain at 4.7 Tesla using fast spin echo imaging [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
Over recent years, high field MR scanners (3 T and above) have become increasingly widespread due to potential advantages such as higher signal-to-noise ratio.

Diffusion-weighted magnetic resonance imaging in cystic renal masses

open access: yesCanadian Urological Association Journal, 2017
Introduction: We aimed to introduce the diagnostic value of diffusion-weighted (DWI) magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) for distinguishing benign and malignant renal cystic masses. Methods: Abdominal DWI-MRIs of patients with Bosniak categories 2F, 3, and 4 cystic renal masses were evaluated retrospectively.

Affinity‐Tuned Albumin Hitchhiking Extends the Bioorthogonal Capture Window in Pretargeting Radiotheranostics

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Pharmacokinetic engineering of clickable radioligands was achieved via albumin hitchhiking approach within a pretargeted radiotheranostics delivery platform. This approach reduced rapid renal elimination, expanded bioorthogonal capture window, boosted tumor uptake by ∼3.5‐fold, and improved the tumor‐to‐liver ratio by ∼6‐fold.

Understanding the Pathogenesis of Neuroinflammation using Magnetic Resonance Imaging [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
A non-invasive view of the brain with the aid of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is invaluable for studying pathological processes during autoimmune encephalomyelitis.

Reliable identification of the auditory thalamus using multi-modal structural analyses. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
The medial geniculate body (MGB) of the thalamus is a key component of the auditory system. It is involved in relaying and transforming auditory information to the cortex and in top-down modulation of processing in the midbrain, brainstem, and ear ...

Cellular Responses to Mechanical Cues Across Scales: From Fundamental Insights to Translational Potential

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This review examines how cellular behavior is regulated by mechanical cues transmitted through soft biomaterials, from single‐cell mechanosensing to tissue‐level adaptation. It highlights why physiological relevance, rather than model complexity alone, is critical for translational mechanobiology and introduces a scoring framework linking material ...
