An HDG Method for Convection Diffusion Equation
Journal of Scientific Computing, 2015A new hybridizable discontinuous Galerkin (HDG) method for the convection-diffusion problem on general polyhedral meshes is presented. This new HDG method is a generalization of HDG methods for linear elasticity introduced in [\textit{W. Qiu} et al., ``An HDG method for linear elasticity with strong symmetric stresses'', \url{arXiv:1312.1407}] to ...

Diffusion and convection in a branching tube
Computers and Biomedical Research, 1983Transport by diffusion and convection is described in a branching tube using a stochastic formulation in a multiple pattern network. The concentration curves are compared with the solutions of the classical one-dimensional transport equation for each branch, coupled with a constraint condition at the branch point.

ℋ-matrices for Convection-diffusion Problems with Constant Convection
Computing, 2003Hierarchical matrices provide a technique for the sparse approximation and matrix arithmetic of large, fully populated matrices. This technique has been proven to be applicable to matrices arising in the boundary and finite element method for uniformly elliptic operators with L∞-coefficients. This paper analyses the application of hierarchical matrices
