Diffusion of Competing Innovations: The Effects of Network Structure on the Provision of Healthcare [PDF]

open access: yes
Medical innovations, in the form of new medication or other clinical practices, evolve and spread through health care systems, impacting on the quality and standards of health care provision, which is demonstrably heterogeneous by geography.

Intermittent boundary control for robust fixed-time stabilization of uncertain reaction-diffusion systems

open access: yes
Achieving the robust fixed-time stabilization (FxTS) of uncertain reaction-diffusion systems (RDSs) utilizing intermittent boundary control is a valuable and unresolved problem.

Stability and optimal control of two products innovation diffusion system

open access: yesResults in Control and Optimization
The current study is aimed at analysing a four-compartmental system to examine the interaction and market dissemination of two product categories. In the first category, the product is low-priced and preferred by economically backward people.

Reperfusion‐Dependent Outcomes After Endovascular Thrombectomy Stratified by NIHSS‐ASPECTS Clinical‐Core Mismatch

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective This analysis evaluates the effect of successful reperfusion on functional outcomes after MT, stratified by admission National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) and Alberta Stroke Program Early CT Score (ASPECTS) as surrogates for clinical‐core mismatch, using multicenter registry data.

Fast iterative solvers for PDE-constrained optimization problems

open access: yes, 2013
In this thesis, we develop preconditioned iterative methods for the solution of matrix systems arising from PDE-constrained optimization problems. In order to do this, we exploit saddle point theory, as this is the form of the matrix systems we wish to ...

A Depolarizing Leak in Sodium Bicarbonate Cotransporter NBCe1 Causes Brain Edema

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives SLC4A4 encodes electrogenic sodium bicarbonate cotransporter NBCe1, prominently expressed in kidney and brain. Recessive loss‐of‐function variants in SLC4A4 cause proximal renal tubular acidosis, no brain edema. In the brain, NBCe1 is expressed by astrocytes, where it regulates pH and mediates astrocyte volume changes.

Pulse‐Level Quantum Robust Control with Diffusion‐Based Reinforcement Learning

open access: yesAdvanced Physics Research
The pulse‐level quantum control presents a large range of external parameter dependencies, including control field noise, frequency detuning, nonlinearities, and uncertainty of Hamiltonian parameters, which can lead to significant deviation from the ...

Cost-Benefit and Dynamical Investigation of a Fractional-Order Corruption Population Dynamical System

open access: yesFractal and Fractional
The main objective of this study was to investigate the effects of control measures on the diffusion of corruption in the population using a fractional order approach with optimal control theory and cost-benefit analysis.

SPG4 and Dementia: Expanding the Clinical Spectrum

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Hereditary spastic paraplegia (HSP) is a group of disorders characterized by progressive spasticity and lower limb weakness, with mutations in SPG4/SPAST being the most common cause. Detailed studies and clinical and molecular comparisons across different populations are missing.
