Restricting Copper Reconstruction with Ultrathin Polydopamine for Selective and Stable Electrochemical CO2 Reduction Reaction to C2 Products

open access: yesAdvanced Energy and Sustainability Research, EarlyView.
An ultrathin polydopamine coating on copper microcubes mitigates the surface reconstruction during EC‐CO2RR. Copper nanocubes form on the surface of the microcubes in the early stages of the EC‐CO2RR, contributing to suppressed surface reconstruction and sustained Faradaic efficiency for C2 products.

Impact of low-pressure conditions on flame width and volume of buoyant methane laminar diffusion flames

open access: yesCase Studies in Thermal Engineering
In this work, an experimental investigation of the main morphological parameters of buoyant methane laminar diffusion flames, including flame width and flame volume, is carried out under various sub-pressures (20-100 kPa).

Relative Exchangeable Copper Confirms Wilson Disease and Supports Reclassification of the ATP7B p.Met665Ile Variant With Conflicting Pathogenicity Evidence

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Medical Genetics Part A, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Wilson disease (WD) is an autosomal recessive disorder of copper metabolism caused by ATP7B mutations. Diagnosis is usually straightforward in symptomatic patients, but can be challenging in children and adolescents with mild liver disease, borderline urinary copper excretion, or inconclusive genetic findings.

Choice of reaction progress variable under preferential diffusion effects in turbulent syngas combustion based on detailed chemistry direct numerical simulations

open access: yesScientific Reports
The combustion of hydrogen and carbon-monoxide mixtures, so-called syngas, plays an increasingly important role in the safety context of non-fossil energy generation, more specifically in the risk management of incidents in process engineering plants for

Optimization and Characterization of Aspirin‐ and Ibuprofen‐Loaded Lipid‐Based Nanoparticle Synthesis for Antibacterial Activity and Cytotoxic Effect

open access: yesAsia-Pacific Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Lipid‐based nanoparticles (LNPs) are favored for drug delivery because of their low toxicity, high biocompatibility, ability to self‐assemble into nanoparticles, and ability to enhance drug bioavailability, thereby improving drug release modulation and pharmacokinetics.

Response characteristics of methane–air and propane–air premixed flames to sinusoidal oscillations in equivalence ratio (Effects of Lewis number and preferential diffusion)

open access: yesJournal of Thermal Science and Technology
Flames propagate in mixture flows with inhomogeneous concentration distributions in practical combustors, such as gasoline direct-injection engines and gas turbine engines. Clarifying the effect of fuel-type differences on the response characteristics of

Mechanistic Insights Into Cellulose Dissolution in Solvents for Advanced Industrial Applications: A Systematic and Bibliometric Review

open access: yesAsia-Pacific Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Cellulose dissolution is important for various industries, including textiles, bioplastics, foods and pharmaceuticals, yet achieving efficient dissolution remains challenging. Deep eutectic solvents (DES) have emerged as promising alternatives to traditional solvents due to their low toxicity, biodegradability and sustainability.

Performance Investigation of Eco‐Friendly Refrigerant Mixtures as an Alternative to R134a in Vapour‐Compression Refrigeration System

open access: yesAsia-Pacific Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The growing impacts of climate change and energy scarcity demand environmentally sustainable refrigeration solutions. This study investigates eco‐friendly refrigerants (R152a, R290 and R600a) and their optimized ternary mixture as alternatives to R134a. Four blend compositions were analysed using experimental testing and REFPROP 10.0 modelling

Unlocking fruit dimensions: Quantification of functional traits driving plant–frugivore interactions

open access: yesApplications in Plant Sciences, EarlyView.
Abstract Fleshy fruits attract animals to ingest fruit, swallow the seeds, and release them in the landscape, thus facilitating seed dispersal and plant regeneration. Attraction of animal dispersers is achieved via attractants such as color or scent, and rewards like sugars, lipids, and micronutrients.
