MATHEMATICAL MODELING OF RANDOM CONCENTRATION FIELD AND ITS SECOND MOMENTS IN SEMISPACE WITH ERLANGIAN DISTRIBUTIONS OF LAYERED INCLUSIONS

open access: yesTASK Quarterly, 2016
The processes of admixture diffusion in a two-phase stratified semispace with random disposition of syblayers are studied by the approach where internal random nonhomogeneities are considered as inner sources and the solution is found in the form of a ...

Decay Process for Three - Species Reaction - Diffusion System

open access: yes, 1999
We propose the deterministic rate equation of three-species in the reaction - diffusion system. For this case, our purpose is to carry out the decay process in our three-species reaction-diffusion model of the form $A+B+C\to D$.

Correlation of the differential expression of PIK3R1 and its spliced variant, p55α, in pan‐cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PIK3R1 undergoes alternative splicing to generate the isoforms, p85α and p55α. By combining large patient datasets with laboratory experiments, we show that PIK3R1 spliced variants shape cancer behavior. While tumors lose the protective p85α isoform, p55α is overexpressed, changes linked to poorer survival and more pronounced in African American ...

SIMULATION OF DIFFUSION FLOWS IN TWO-PHASE MULTILAYERED STOCHASTICALLY NONHOMOGENEOUS BODIES WITH NON-UNIFORM DISTRIBUTION OF INCLUSIONS

open access: yesTASK Quarterly, 2015
Admixture diffusion flows are investigated in two-phase randomly nonhomogeneous multilayered strips with non-uniform distributions of inclusions. Cases where the most probable disposition of layered inclusions is located near the body boundary on which ...

Voltamperometry of a Kinetically Irreversible Electrochemical Process on a Rough Electrode

open access: yesКонденсированные среды и межфазные границы, 2020
We investigated the role of the effect of morphological inhomogeneity of the electrode surface in the voltammetric response of the irreversible electrochemical process in the mixed-kinetic mode.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Alignment of Rods and Partition of Integers

open access: yes, 2005
We study dynamical ordering of rods. In this process, rod alignment via pairwise interactions competes with diffusive wiggling. Under strong diffusion, the system is disordered, but at weak diffusion, the system is ordered.

Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Electron spin diffusion in monolayer MoS$_2$

open access: yes, 2014
Electron spin diffusion is investigated in monolayer MoS$_2$ in the absence of external electric and magnetic fields. The electron-impurity scattering, which is shown to play a negligible role in spin relaxation in time domain in this material, has a ...

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated
