A Living Lab is a user driven open innovation ecosystem, which combines consumers, firms and public sector. It is a rather new innovation methodology, which steadily gains stronger acceptance and becomes a significant innovation policy’s instrument in ...

Intrinsic expansions for averaged diffusion processes
We show that the rate of convergence of asymptotic expansions for solutions of SDEs is generally higher in the case of degenerate (or partial) diffusion compared to the elliptic case, i.e.

Excursions of diffusion processes and continued fractions [PDF]
It is well-known that the excursions of a one-dimensional diffusion process can be studied by considering a certain Riccati equation associated with the process.

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

Remarks on drift estimation for diffusion processes [PDF]
In applications such as molecular dynamics it is of interest to fit Smoluchowski and Langevin equations to data. Practitioners often achieve this by a variety of seemingly ad hoc procedures such as fitting to the empirical measure generated by the data,

Correlation of the differential expression of PIK3R1 and its spliced variant, p55α, in pan‐cancer
PIK3R1 undergoes alternative splicing to generate the isoforms, p85α and p55α. By combining large patient datasets with laboratory experiments, we show that PIK3R1 spliced variants shape cancer behavior. While tumors lose the protective p85α isoform, p55α is overexpressed, changes linked to poorer survival and more pronounced in African American ...

Diffusion of heat, energy, momentum, and mass in one-dimensional systems
We study diffusion processes of local fluctuations of heat, energy, momentum, and mass in three paradigmatic one-dimensional systems. For each system, diffusion processes of four physical quantities are simulated and the cross correlations between them ...

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

A Causal Construction of Diffusion Processes [PDF]
A simple nonlinear integral equation for Ito's map is obtained. Although, it does not include stochastic integrals, it does give causal construction of diffusion processes which can be easily implemented by iteration systems.

Diffusion processes through social groups' dynamics
Axelrod's model describes the dissemination of a set of cultural traits in a society constituted by individual agents. In a social context, nevertheless, individual choices toward a specific attitude are also at the basis of the formation of communities,
