Registration of diffusion tensor images

Proceedings of the 2004 IEEE Computer Society Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition, 2004. CVPR 2004., 2004
This paper presents a novel affine registration algorithm for diffusion tensor images. The proposed metric derived from the standpoint of diffusion profiles not only has concrete physical underpinning but also can be extended for comparing higher-order diffusion models.

Regularization of diffusion tensor images

2008 5th IEEE International Symposium on Biomedical Imaging: From Nano to Macro, 2008
We present a regularization scheme for diffusion tensor images, that respects the geometrical structure of diffusion ellipsoids and does not introduce artifacts such as anisotropy drops. The method can be stated as a variational problem and solved by means of a gradient flow.

Robust tensor estimation in diffusion tensor imaging

Journal of Magnetic Resonance, 2011
The signal response measured in diffusion tensor imaging is subject to detrimental influences caused by noise. Noise fields arise due to various contributions such as thermal and physiological noise and sources related to the hardware imperfection. As a result, diffusion tensors estimated by different linear and non-linear least squares methods in ...

Diffusion Tensor Imaging of Peripheral Nerves

Seminars in Musculoskeletal Radiology, 2015
Diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) is a powerful MR imaging technique that can be used to probe the microstructural environment of highly anisotropic tissues such as peripheral nerves. DTI has been used predominantly in the central nervous system, and its application in the peripheral nervous system does pose some challenges related to imaging artifacts ...

Diffusion Tensor Imaging (DTI)

2018
Diffusion Tensor Imaging is an MRI technique that allows in vivo noninvasive measurement of the translational motion of water, providing information about its anisotropy (or lack of it) in different tissues. DTI has been commonly used to quantitatively measure the integrity of tissues which may be compromised by neurological disease, such as white ...

Diffusion and Diffusion Tensor Imaging in Brain Cancer

Seminars in Radiation Oncology, 2011
Conventional magnetic resonance imaging provides important information on the structure of tumors, but new imaging tools are emerging that provide more detailed functional information on tumor biology. In particular, diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) is sensitive to the tumor microenvironment so it may serve as a prognostic biomarker and an indicator of

Diffusion Tensor Imaging

2021
Diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) is an advanced imaging technique which enables quantification of anisotropic diffusion (i.e., restricted or preferential diffusion to one particular direction) in terms of direction and magnitude on a voxel-by-voxel basis. Serial calculation of anisotropic diffusion in neighboring voxels can provide the information on the

Pediatric diffusion and diffusion tensor imaging

Pediatric Radiology, 2007
Diffusion analysis and imaging is yet another nuclear magnetic resonance technique that has moved from the chemistry laboratory to the forefront of radiological imaging, diagnosis and research. A symposium on diffusion imaging is pertinent to readers ofPediatric Radiology because much of the clinical and research application of diffusion, including ...
