Management of functional gastrointestinal disorders in children. Focus on restoring intestinal microenvironment and motility

open access: yesМедицинский совет, 2021
Functional gastrointestinal disorders in children are one of the most common reasons why parents visit a pediatrician. Functional gastrointestinal disorders include various persistent combinations of chronic or recurrent gastrointestinal symptoms in the ...

Abnormal metabolic networks participate in invasion and migration of tumors of the digestive system (Review)

open access: yesOncology Letters
Digestive system neoplasms are the most common malignant tumor worldwide. Tumor metastasis is also an important factor in tumor-related mortality. Deregulation of cellular metabolism is as a major indicator of cancer, and reprogramming of metabolism is thought to be necessary to meet the increased energy demands of tumors.

Spatiotemporal Drug Delivery via a Neonatal Spinal Cord ECM Hydrogel for Biomimetic Microenvironment Remodeling After Spinal Cord Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A biomimetic hydrogel derived from neonatal spinal cord ECM (DNSCM) delivers LAMB2 protein and ISP peptide to remodel the inhibitory injury microenvironment. The system sustains drug release, upregulates pro‐regenerative LAMB2, downregulates inhibitory CSPG, and promotes axonal regeneration.

Liver function abnormality on admission predicts long COVID syndrome in digestive system

open access: yesHeliyon
Clinical practice showed that many patients with SARS-CoV-2 infection presented with long COVID syndrome in digestive system. We sought to investigate the factor affecting the incidence of long COVID syndrome in digestive system.Patients with SARS-CoV-2 infection diagnosed at two centers of Zhongshan Hospital and one center of Shanghai Pudong Hospital ...

Respiratory Organ‐on‐a‐Chip for Disease Modeling: From Architecture to Functional Integration

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Respiratory organ‐on‐a‐chip (ROC) models capture key mechanical and cellular cues of the human respiratory system, enabling quantitative dissection of disease mechanisms. This review links ROC architectures to disease modeling, functional integration, and commercialization, and proposes a decision framework that aligns model complexity with mechanistic

Gut dysmotility in functional gastrointestinal disorders. Potential for therapeutic adjustment in terms of clinical case management

open access: yesМедицинский совет, 2020
Gastrointestinal motility disorders can be a leading pathogenetic factor contributing to the development of many common gastroenterological diseases. Motor disorders can be a pathogenetic mechanism of development of both organic pathology (developmental ...

Rapid Fabrication of Self‐Propelled and Steerable Magnetic Microcatheters for Precision Medicine

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A rapid Joule heating fabrication method for the production of self‐propelling, adaptive microcatheters, with tunable stiffness and integrated microfluidic channels is presented. Demonstrated through three microrobotic designs, including a steerable guiding catheter, an untethered wave‐crawling TubeBot, and a distal‐end propelled microcatheter, it was ...

Hypertrophic pyloric stenosis masked by kidney failure in a male infant with a contiguous gene deletion syndrome at Xp22.31 involving the steroid sulfatase gene: case report

open access: yesItalian Journal of Pediatrics, 2022
Background Contiguous gene deletion syndrome at Xp22.3 resulting in nullisomy in males or Turner syndrome patients typically encompasses the steroid sulfatase gene (STS) and contiguously located other genes expanding the phenotype.
