Forensic analysis of digital audio recordings based on acoustic mains hum

2016 24th Signal Processing and Communication Application Conference (SIU), 2016
ENF (Electrical Network Frequency), fluctuates instantaneously from its nominal value (50/60 Hz) depending on an increase or decrease in power consumption as against power production in the grid network. An ENF-sourced noise component is added into audio recordings where mains power sourced electromagnetic field or acoustic mains hum exists.

Speaker Recognition for Digital Forensic Audio Analysis using Support Vector Machine

2020 3rd International Seminar on Research of Information Technology and Intelligent Systems (ISRITI), 2020
Speaker Recognition is included in pattern recognition, where one of the most critical parts is the process of data classification. In the classification, the built system must estimate the classification of data into a classroom dimension closest to the training set.

Speaker Recognition For Digital Forensic Audio Analysis Using Learning Vector Quantization Method

2018 IEEE International Conference on Internet of Things and Intelligence System (IOTAIS), 2018
Presently, Biometric features are often used to identify suspects in law enforcement processes. One of these biometric features is Speaker Recognition. Speaker recognition is used to discriminate people by their voice. In this study, the problem that can be solved is how to classify audio sample that exist on the evidence with the voice of the suspect ...

Environment Sound Recognition for Digital Audio Forensics Using Linear Predictive Coding Features

2011
Linear Predictive Coding coefficients are of the main extraction feature in digital forensic. In this paper, we perform several experiments focusing on the problems of environments recognition from audio particularly for forensic application. We investigated the effect of temporal Linear Predictive Coding coefficient as feature extraction on ...

The significance of the Serial Copy Management System (SCMS) in the forensic analysis of digital audio recordings

The International Journal of Speech, Language and the Law, 2005
In a forensic authenticity examination of an audio recording, being able to prove a recording is an original or some form of copy is of paramount importance. The consumer digital audio interface defined by the IEC60958-3 standard supports the Serial Copy Management System (SCMS) protocol.

Feasibility of Using Electrical Network Frequency Fluctuations to Perform Forensic Digital Audio Authentication

2013
Extracting the Electric Network Frequency (ENF) fluctuations from an audio recording and comparing it to a reference database is a new technology intended to perform forensic digital audio authentication. The objective of this thesis is to implement and design a range of programs and algorithms for capturing and extracting ENF signals.
