Electrochemical‐Doping of Tungsten on Nickel‐Boron‐Phosphide Microspheres for Accelerated Industrial‐Scale Water Electrolysis at High Current Density

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
The bifunctional W/NiBP (+) || W/NiBP (−) demonstrates superior overall water splitting (OWS) performance as compared to the benchmark of Pt/C (+) || RuO2 (−). Notably, the W/NiBP (+, −) exhibits an ultra‐low cell voltage of 2.68 V at 2000 mA cm−2 high current density as compared to the benchmark value of 3.29 V.

Discourses of ‘curation' in digital times

open access: yes, 2015
Recently, The Guardian asked: ‘Can I successfully learn a language online?’ (Codrea-Rado 2014) and invited three writers to use online language learning tools to learn a language over a six-week period. The three writers used three popular platforms (Duolingo, Rosetta Stone and Skype) to learn Spanish, French and Russian.

Mechanoluminescence of Bi‐Activated NaYGeO4 Polycrystals and 3D Printed Scaffolds in the NUV/Blue and NIR Spectral Range

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
NUV/Blue and NIR emitting mechanoluminescent (ML) materials based on a Bi‐doped germanate compound (NYGOBx) are reported. 3D‐printing is used to fabricate complex scaffold devices from this material, suggested for use as mechanically‐activated light sources for functional illumination.

Effect of Core Geometry on Frequency Correlations and Channel Capacity of a Multimode Optical Fiber

open access: yesAdvanced Photonics Research, EarlyView.
Structured wavefronts focused at the output of multimode fibers reveal a distinct spatial dependence of frequency correlation bandwidth between circular and rectangular cores. Unlike conventional circular‐core fibers, rectangular‐core fibers maintain uniform bandwidth across all transverse locations, enabling over a 20% increase in channel capacity for

Digitized Phase‐Change Material Heterostack for Transmissive Diffractive Optical Neural Network

open access: yesAdvanced Photonics Research, EarlyView.
A phase‐change‐material‐based digitized heterostack is experimentally demonstrated and theoretically analyzed for future energy‐efficient, fast reconfigured, and compact transmissive diffractive optical neural networks. All‐optical and fully reconfigurable transmissive diffractive optical neural network (DONN) architectures emerge as high‐throughput ...

Making Digital Curation a Systematic Institutional Function

open access: yesInternational Journal of Digital Curation, 2011
Over the past decade, a rich body of research and practice has emerged under the rubrics of electronic records, digital preservation and digital curation. Most of this work has taken place as research activity (often financed by government agencies) within libraries and information/computer science departments.
