All-Pole Recursive Digital Filters Design Based on Ultraspherical Polynomials [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
A simple method for approximation of all-pole recursive digital filters, directly in digital domain, is described. Transfer function of these filters, referred to as Ultraspherical filters, is controlled by order of the Ultraspherical polynomial, nu ...

The doubly terminated lossless digital two-pair in digital filtering [PDF]

open access: yes, 1985
A digital lossless two-pair terminated at both ends with "passive" multipliers is studied. Conditions for low sensitivity of the transfer-function magnitude with respect to the digital multiplier coefficients are derived. It is shown that low sensitivity

Cyclic azapeptide CD36 ligand attenuates cardiac injury and reduces long‐chain fatty acid accumulation after myocardial ischemia–reperfusion in mice

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
In a murine model of myocardial ischemia and reperfusion (MI/R), the CD36 azapeptide ligand MPE‐298 reduces cardiac injury and transiently lowers left ventricular long‐chain fatty acids (LCFAs) accumulation 3 h after reperfusion, accompanied by a decrease of oxidative stress and inflammation‐associated genes' expression in the heart and adipose tissue.

The discrete-time bounded-real lemma in digital filtering [PDF]

open access: yes, 1985
The Lossless Bounded-Real lemma is developed in the discrete-time domain, based only on energy balance arguments. The results are used to prove a discrete-time version of the general Bounded-Real lemma, based on a matrix spectral-factorization result ...

Cutaneous Melanoma Drives Metabolic Changes in the Aged Bone Marrow Immune Microenvironment

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
Melanoma, the deadliest form of skin cancer, increasingly affects older adults. Our study reveals that melanoma induces changes in iron and lipid levels in the bone marrow, impacting immune cell populations and increasing susceptibility to ferroptosis.

An HDTV encoder for PALplus transmissions, supplemented with a digital residual signal [PDF]

open access: yes, 1996
This paper discusses the design of a video encoder which will enable PALplus compatible HDTV transmission, by embedding a digital residual component within the standard analogue PALplus television signal.

Development of a Prediction Model for Progression Risk in High‐Grade Gliomas Based on Habitat Radiomics and Pathomics

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To investigate the value of constructing models based on habitat radiomics and pathomics for predicting the risk of progression in high‐grade gliomas. Methods This study conducted a retrospective analysis of preoperative magnetic resonance (MR) images and pathological sections from 72 patients diagnosed with high‐grade gliomas (52 ...

Investigating the impact of image content on the energy efficiency of hardware-accelerated digital spatial filters [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Battery-operated low-power portable computing devices are becoming an inseparable part of human daily life. One of the major goals is to achieve the longest battery life in such a device.

Clustering Algorithm Reveals Dopamine‐Motor Mismatch in Cognitively Preserved Parkinson's Disease

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To explore the relationship between dopaminergic denervation and motor impairment in two de novo Parkinson's disease (PD) cohorts. Methods n = 249 PD patients from Parkinson's Progression Markers Initiative (PPMI) and n = 84 from an external clinical cohort.

Functional and Structural Evidence of Neurofluid Circuit Aberrations in Huntington Disease

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Disrupted neurofluid regulation may contribute to neurodegeneration in Huntington disease (HD). Because neurofluid pathways influence waste clearance, inflammation, and the distribution of central nervous system (CNS)–delivered therapeutics, understanding their dysfunction is increasingly important as targeted treatments emerge.
